I completely understand what you're saying. Is this your first sideshow statue? Sideshow is open about how these are mass produced over seas. People should really expect error and damages. It's bound to happen when they are making and shipping hundreds of thousands of statues a year. These things are fragile. It shouldn't be an issue unless sideshow can not replace the damaged pieces. And if they can't replace them, you can always get a refund if you are unsatisfied.
If the latter of the two is you... You should probably think about another hobby, right? 4000 ES, 3999 could be perfect, but they will still hear it for the 1 ya know.
Again, I'm not trying to be a **** or offend, it's just how it is.
Not offended at all, (I actually would prefer to have an in depth, intellectual and calm conversation about things than get mad) this is not my first sideshow statue. I have over 20 sideshow statues BUT only 3 have been directly from Sideshow. I have only been collecting for 2 1/2 years. I had a great job when I first started collecting and went crazy buying from evil-bay. Not realizing that there was this forum and other smarter, cheaper ways to buy sold out sideshow statues.
ANYWAY, the 3 statues I have gotten from Sideshow ALL had problems. Deadpool had paint imperfections but I was like, "No biggie, I can handle some paint smudges and missed lines cause it's still an awesome statue." Punisher PF was the next one, the boots where not clean cut from the mold and the gun tip was missing paint and had some kinda cloth substance glued to it. (maybe someones glove or shirt caught it while the paint was drying). It looks bad but sideshow gave me a 50 dollar credit and I was cool with that cause I love the statue. The last one I got was the Black Widow PF and she had the WORST lazy eye I have ever seen. My wife laughed when I showed it to her and sideshow sent me a replacement which was much better. Everything else that I got from ebay always had something wrong with it and I slowly got better about accepting imperfections in these statues.
I think it just comes down to the cost of the Apocalypse piece. It is the most I have ever spent on a statue and it it bothers me to see people with "the red arrows of dread," (yes I am making it a saying). If there are imperfections with the paint or cloth I can live with it, but if it is broken or cracked paint then it bothers me QC isn't more of an issue with sideshow. Especially since they use multiple factories overseas to produce the final product.
All in all, I LOVE SIDESHOW, I told myself it is the only company I will buy from, buying from everyone (bowen, xm, koto, gg) is too darn expensive, and sideshow is the best in my eyes.
In the last year alone I have given Sideshow over 2k DIRECTLY, not from secondary market, in PO's and purchases, so that tells you how much I love them. I don't make the kind of money I used to and for me to invest that kind of money I am pretty much saying statue collecting IS my one and only hobby. Sideshow deserves it, but I, in return, want a product with NO "red arrows of dread."
