having some good tiered incentives probably would have helped. But I hate it when the crowdfund does not unlock all the goals,l.

Not really that concerning. That’s very typical of any Haslab during the middle. Things will pick up at the end and more then likely easily hit then goal and then some.

Just make a dang product, slap a limited edition label on if needed then sell it. If they are concerned about lack of interest, just do a standard pre-order in a fixed window of time and then produce accordingly. The idea of a massive corporation needing to crowdfund a project is ridiculous.

It isn't an ordinary pre order though. The timed stretch goals etc are a gimmick and basically them saying "we have all this stuff developed but we won't include it because you didn't order during the super short arbitrary window"

As much as I like what they've done with this, in light of things I wont be backing any longer, and have cancelled some other orders as well. Need to fast track some electronics purchases and save the rest

Yeah it's not looking good. Hopefully they do a video with Adam Savage soon, as that usually gives a huge boost to these Haslab projects.

IIRC, Adam Savage did a video with the JazzInc Batmobile 89 and that brought a lot of attention to the project but it had been long been sold out and on waitlist by then.

Had to contact Hasbro to cancel my order and get a refund because I got charged the full $467 upfront (instead of Dec 2) when I recently updated my payment method to PayPal.

Nope. Even if there's a big surge, I expect that will only bring it to 10,000 or so.

Which is a shame, because you can tell this is something they put a ton of work into and were very proud of.

Maybe too proud to think that it would be funded in 2 weeks and bait us with the Louis Tully. Even scraping that concept we can't get this funded.

It is a little pricey, but.. if the quality is good, yeah why not, especially the deluxe version which essentially came with 7 figures ! ! Just the figures alone worth $120-$150, so $250-$280 for the Ecto-1/1A was actaully not a bad deal at all.

What's really annoying though, and stops me preordering, is to see the US/Canada version for $399.99, whereas on the UK site it's £399.99, equivalent to over $500.

Given all the sophisticated electronics and complex lighting in the 1A, the price is an absolute bargain. And they threw as many new figures into the pot as possible to help make the price go down better. But I know for many it probably still seems like a lot for a toy Hasbro car. Especially at this time of year.

They've got a similar problem with that X-Men 97 Sentinel. All of a sudden I thought it might be cool to jump in on a small collection there, but none of the X Men 97 figures are still available.

Yeah I'm not sure how many people really care about those GB2 suits, and I think the standard suits might have drawn more casual fans in.
