Hasbro does not have the FX license.

Essentially, the SW line that was produced under MR has remained intact. As Nash pointed out, the "Star Wars team" that was at MR basically split from Corgi/MR and has reformed under the new eFx banner, led by Bryan. It's in good hands. And I wonder if Amy (Customer Service rep extraordinaire) will be part of the new company too, as she just announced her resignation at MR last week.

However, I'd have to believe it's rather naive to think there won't be at least some "rehashed" items. It is, afterall, a brand new company and technically these will be all new products.

All in all, I think this is great news for SW prop collectors. :rock

I know I am stoked about this. Hope to see their product plan of 2007 get completed! I know not many people were, but i was really looking forward to that bad ass ROTS shadow clone helmet.

Interesting info there. Well regardless of screen time then, v1 is what is burnt into my memory for Luke's saber in Jedi.

Sadly, that is because of LFL's marketing and revisionism more than what's actually in the movie itself. The V1 was basically only used for pick-up shots during filming and then later as the reference hilt in publicity photos and Lucasfilm's usual "idealized" ROTJ saber. It's not even the one the Emperor had on his throne.

Intersting indeed! There are more than a few items I will be watching out for under this new name. So I wouldn't mind seeing some rehashing to maybe jump on some stuff I missed previously.

I think there will be some "rehashing" (which will of course drive the previous MR completists a little batty). It's inevitable. But I doubt they will re-release EVERYTHING. Just the core items. And even then they will likely be different somehow (other than just packaging and logos, of course).

But, again, this is nothing but GOOD news for SW prop replica collectors, imho. And yet another reason why SDCC is going to rock as usual. :rock

I hope they continue to provide such beautiful display cases for their items, that's one thing I love about MR's line, great products and quality ways to display them and keep them clean.

Ya, growing up with only marketing visuals and such, you come to know the v1 look as Luke's ROTJ saber and end up thinking the one Palpatine held on his chair arm taunting Luke was a deviation.

I think the v1 has the better look though, I like the bronze neck leading to the emitter and such. The differences are somewhat subtle, but my personal favor for v1 makes the differences from the v2 more significant, otherwise I'd have made up for it by getting the v2.

Speaking of reissues, I hope, possibly under a different film, they release another Studio Prop Vader Helmet, the ROTS was out of my range at the time.

im not a vader fan, however the 1:1 vader helmet is an impressive piece in person.

Indeed it is. I hate the idealized, symmetrical ROTS Vader design, but I was still wowed by that piece (couldn't get myself to purchase it, though).

I do think we'll eventually get our 1:1 ROTJ reveal helmet, thanks to EFX... and hopefully a 1:1 ANH as well. :rock

I heard before that Sideshow may take over, which would have been awesome...

But this is just as good...

I would have liked to pick up a MR Stormtrooper helmet and now with efx coming on board, maybe they will soon pick up where MR left off (i.e. they only made 1048 out of the expected 2500).

Why is that? I don't think anyone would even had noticed that the other helmets weren't symmetrical if LFL didn't make a point of revealing that the ROTS helmet was symmetrical...

Oh yes, people most definitely would and did notice. You don't think any of the prop replica diehards noticed that before? We've affectionately referred to the ANH Vader and Stormie helmets as "wonky" for years. There are specific "imperfections" in those original screen helmets that added so much character and menace.

I can spot the difference between an ANH Stormtrooper helmet and a ROTJ/SE helmet a mile away. Same with OT Vader and ROTS Vader. And I'm far from alone and there are tons of folks out there who are experts and know far more about this stuff than I do.

Even aesthetics and nostalgia aside, the symmeterical Vader helmet and different Anakin/Obi-Wan sabers in ROTS were stupid for continuity reasons alone. What would have been wrong about Vader looking like his ANH version or Anakin and Obi-Wan using the same EXACT saber designs? Because they're different, and for no good reason. But that's nothing a little fanfic rationalization can't fix, right? ;)
