Statue Aragorn Maquette - Link in 1st post.

I had the original Aragorn statue, and the likeness wasn't that great. The thing I did like about it, was watching the Making of Gollum dvd, was when Viggo would offer his feedback on the piece.

I don't have that DVD. What did he say about it?

I the PF line more so now....

I will have more $$$ for the Predator LSB line....

Josh, you and FE are right on the money with this one. At one point I owned all 3 SSW Aragorn representations and Elessar was easily the best of the lot. I certainly wouldn't put on par with the PF or the maquette, but it was a decent representation. As for the other two.... one would have to out of their mind to think either one even remotely looks like Viggo.

No, its not quite on part but I do think its close. I think its one of those if given the chance to be tweaked a bit by Tim, Andy, or Trev it would be dead on.

Unfortunately Allan, according to my daughter it arrived about 10 minutes after my wife and I left for the weekend. I'll be home on Sun. night and will provide my review once I have it in hand.

Man, it looks like production was tough on this piece...the paint apps look sloppy and even the underlying sculpt looks dramatically different from the proto. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, I was just shocked.

These are EXTREME close-up shots. It looks stunning in person. As i said no photos i've seen actually do justice to the statue in person.

Got my maquette in with my SSW statues, and it just doesn't work! The base takes up too much space and is too big to fit in with the others. Plus, comparing him to the SSW Aragorn, the maquette of Aragorn is definately bigger. I had hoped they'd all be in scale at least!

EXACTLY! It's a complete other experience in person.Very pleased how it turned out.

Yeah, there are some extreme close up shots and it does look stunning in person. Though, I would disagree that there aren't photos that do it justice.

Of course they will stand taller there is more to these bases than the SSW versions. So it will stand a bit taller but we knew that based on the height listed on SS site. They're both 1:6th scale I believe.

Yah but besides the base..... the SSW Aragorn himself, if we take the bases away, is still shorter than this new maquette.

I guess I would think if he was standing up he'd be right there height wise with the Aragorn maquette since they're both 1:6th.
