That's not how it works though. With less people ordering collectibles, companies are forced to produce less. They're also forced to increase prices as buying more makes per-unit prices lower, but buying in smaller quantities costs more. With production costing more, naturally the price has to increase. This is all then dumped on the lap of the consumer. We've not only seen this a bit with HT, but also with the kiddie companies like McFarlane and NECA whose prices have also increased despite the bad economy.
The only alternative is to cut quality and cut corners in production to cut cost and then at the end you're stuck with a cheap WalMart knockoff. I, for one, am glad this wasn't the route taken.
