Are prices getting out of control?

Feeling's mutual with the continual NWO conspiracy bull____. :wink1:

havn't talked about that much lately, unlike your obsession with bashing that HT Indy....call it BS all you like...ignorance will leave you in the dark

I'm not sure how so many of you can afford dozens upon dozens of Hot Toys models. I mean, unless majority of you have a high paying job/career to accomodate your lifestyle...

The Fair Weather Freaks have a tendency to lease their figures. That is, they buy them and display them for a couple of months and then re-sell them on the board or ebay to get cash for the next "new" thing. For them it's a neverending revolving door of buying and selling their collectibles just to keep up with the new stuff. A true fan would never sell a collectible they really value.

OT kinda: In my opinion, I think McF and Neca do a fine job. You don't have to have fancy accesories and real clothing to be cool...I mean, for 7" figures what else is there? Especially since they are so affordable. I love Sideshow and just got my first HT figure [and it is amazing] but I feel having fewer of them in just my favorite characters makes them all the more special...and I can collect numerous amounts of McF and Neca without breaking the bank.

I am sure the total credit card debit on this forum is pretty high.

I kid myself into believing that having to be highly selective in choosing the figures that grace my shelves is every bit as rewarding as being able to afford two of every damned figure HT bring out.

Maybe I'm glad my salary isn't any bigger anyway, because I'm pretty sure the only thing I'd have to show for it would be more dollies :lol

you do have to pick and choose, don't buy to buy or you'll be in over your head, been collecting hot toys for almost a year now and i own 13. but i bought the extra body for dx joker and a extra body for t-1000. so that's where my 13 comes from, i'm at a good pace, about one a month. overtime also helps.

I was just looking back and realized that Hot Toys Rambo2 figure (what really brought them to prominence IMO) was US$65.

Then Rambo1 was $85
Their Rambo3 figure was $95

These figures are a little outdated now (and proved to have problems with the rubber bodies), but I'm more than a little disgusted at prices when I realize how much they've jumped in just 3-4 years.

Think I'm about to leave this hobby for good.

I was thinking more Premium Format statue which are now apparently almost the same price.

...and just not buying anything at all.

Look up "appreciated value." It's not absurd to think that collectibles would increase in value. Especially museum quality high-end collectibles that aren't mass produced or pawned at childrens' toy stores. I'd hate to think what you'd do seeing a $3 Kenner figure sell for $10k.

For the record, I haven't heard of any issues with the First Blood (shootout) nor the Rambo III bodies. Having owned all the muscle body Rambo figures, I can tell you they're made differently than the Rambo II which is the only one I've seen to have these issues.

While I agree that the DX Indy is well into PF territory, thankfully other HT figures aren't much more than what HT's been charging for the past few years now, with some, like Spider-Man, selling below average.

Yeah I have come out ahead overall with everything I've bought and sold on ebay. Every time I've decided an Enterbay Bruce Lee doesn't meet my picky standards for Lee I've ended up making a lot more on ebay than what I bought it for! ....so theres that....

Thats interesting about the muscle bodies. Hopefully that holds true going forward!

There is something else about PF's though ...suddenly rather than giggling about collecting dolls, my wife, her friends and both families gather around the PF statues and talk about how awesome they are. Thats a nice bonus I didn't expect :hi5:
