Very exotic slave girl, I think that's what we are after.

As much details and emphasis should be put into her as there is in Conan and the Snake. I don't want to compare but I have too.
The Prize has a greatly detailed Conan with great anatomy, but the princess also has just as much detail.
Fury of the Beast has great Conan detail but the beast looks amazing.
Rage of the Undying has tremendous detail. The pose seems a little wonky to me but as far as it goes, you don't get any better with the sculpt.

This sculpt here is very good. But the details of Conan aren't as great as the others. The Snake is great but not as menacing as I hoped. What makes this piece great is the storytelling. But the thing wrong with that is Conan is going for the death blow but everything else says the battle just begun. And the girl has very little detail. It's a great prototype and idea but all the pieces have to be on the same page.

:goodpost:

Id like to see a little bit of battle damage on Conan. Maybe a few slices on his upper and lower torso with blood as well as blood on his sword and axe blades. Possibly a few incisions with blood on the snake as well. You could dirty up the girl a little bit, make her look like she's been chained up in the dungeon for quite some time, struggling for her life. Maybe some scratches here and there on her body?

I'm gonna go through my Conan collection and see if I can find some inspiration. The frame and story is there. With tweaks this can and will be a grail.

Like I said these are just table top photos, they dont do justice to the sculpt and paint. Also, as you can tell these are not my photos! LOL. I would like to have waited a little bit more. However, that said Im glad I can hear the criticism before it goes into production. We can still fine tune the paint job as there is still time.

Alright, keep up with the suggestions, I'm not going to respond but will show these to Arahom.
Time for me to travel, our first ever show in NY. Should be fun.

Thanks for all the comments guys, just take it easy and see you at the show :peace

The snake does have a cut on the left side of the statue... so the idea is there.

I am really underwhelm by the prototype so far, but won't give up on it. I am going to make my suggestions quick instead of writing a book.

1. Need damage and BLOOD! LOTS OF BLOOD!
2. Snake isn't menacing enough for me. I would have preferred a giant Cobra with striking colors and awesome paint job on those flaps or whatever you call those flaps on the side of Cobras.
3. Maybe the snake can be wrapped around the girl?
4. Delete the girl and center the dio on just Conan and the Snake.
5. I would like Conan to be on a little more roids and and change the pose. Leave the legs alone while having the left arm reaching out and holding the snake from reaching out any further. The right arm will hold the switchable weapon in hand and ready to strike down the snake.

I think a gentle giant slave leia pose with maybe one are up would have been nicer. More clothes on her too. She looks pretty tacky. Reminds me of 1970s heavy metal art.

I'd need to see this in person for sure. I do like it, but not the girl at all.

Looking at this piece I'd say the biggest problem is Arahom's sculpting skills are mediocre at best, this will not change no matter how many "adjustments" you make..Also, Troy's heads for both the girl and Conan are shocking disappointments..
I'd let a more capable sculptor like Alex Perrera (who sculpted all the other ARH masterpieces) basically re-sculpt this piece from the ground up and commission someone like Pablo Viggiano to sculpt the heads...You're asking a small fortune for this piece..unless you offer something truly special in return, the sales will be lamentable

Don't bulk Conan up he's not supposed to be super bulky.

He's a theif, he's quick, he's an athlete, remember the agility of a panther....i don't want to see him roided up.

You got Conan right imo and the pose is fine. Still would like to see the Bowl cut hair though, and please make sure he has blue eyes.

:goodpost: I was going to post my own thoughts but you pretty much nailed everything I was going to say.

Just a copy of thoughts I put on Statueforum:

'I am SO disappointed that ARH released the photos early. Was enjoying the hype and the gasket blowing on certain forums! Including here :wink1:

I have looked over these dodgy pictures time and time again and am very much on the + side for this piece.

The obvious tweaks are the lack of battle wounds, blood etc and the hair on Conan should definitely be the square cut, classic R E Howard described style. It is simply too ingrained in Conan lore and McFarlane totally respected this despite the furry underpants comic versions of Conan that abound with wild mane.

The girls pose looks to fit right in with a terrified Damsel in distress who is spasming in fear uncontrollably. Hence, the apparently weird positioning of her hand and the contorted face :horror

Glad they went with a more exotic type female, but her eyes need to be dark to match her hair. Collar and cuffs I'll leave to the more discerning buyers

The snake looks very serpentine in that it looks as though it can fair move at a quick pace when needed as it has not been over bulked into a python type, surprise attack type of slow snake. This one looks as though it will actively chase you!

It is definitely an all or nothing piece and the long awaited Seen in Person reviews will nail or fail it.

The paint job is the biggie for me as photos of ARH pieces just look to flat, 'spray painted' for me so all you viewers please check this out for me :1-1: '

The hair thing is very distinctive.

:exactly: I'm with this. We gonna talk at the con.

Its how he was originally described. Blue Eyes & black square cut mane.

I don't mind different interpretations of this and obviously there is supposed to be movement in the hair but the statues hair is a bit "80's glam rock feather cut" lol.
