Because the other parts are a joke and the bill's creator said they are going to pull those parts when they revisit it. People are freaking out about a bill that's going to be changed. In interviews they've stated it goes a bit too far, goes away from it's intended purpose.

Once they change it to "direct threats" then no one will have an issue. My issue is that this bill was passed and sent to the Gov desk as is. Without a veto it would become law. That's not hard to understand or have a problem with.

Trust me, the more laws worded loosely the worse it is. A clear, defined law against direct threats is fine, but not stuff like this.

100% agree with you. Vague wording in laws are a slippery slope that can lead to the government taking that inch and turning it into a mile.

The James Byrd murder says it all.

I just thought everything was bigger. I suspect that sensibility may be Texas-sized where it exists, same as senseless pig____er malice is.

I liked the second to last paragraph about the law prohibiting abortion based on race or gender. You don't even need to be born to have civil rights now, which of course squares perfectly with not needing to be a citizen either.

Reps and Dems need to stop playing coy and just ____ already.
