Re: Art Books

What is the best hardcover Star Wars art book out there? Movie book? Anything for I.Basterds, Kill Bill or any other Tarantino film?

What is that book on "KUBRICK" -- is a picture book? Can you please elaborate?

Re: Art Books

Not out until Sept 28 and spending (SRP: $150) though Amazon has it now preorder for $94

Amazon.com: Art of Marvel Studios (Art of Marvel Movies) (9780785153320): Marvel Comics: Books

This will be one to get and keep! Supposedly only 200pages, but I think it'll be bigger...

thanks Crow....I put it in my Amazon cart and saved it for later.....

I think I will add it.

I know I am getting Thor, but I don't have either IM. And Cap is up in the air.

Thor just seemed so gorgeous to look at I thought the book was needed.

Re: Art Books

why buy that if you already own the iron man hard covers, thor, and cap when that one comes out>

And next year when The Avengers book comes out?

I'm not sure on the Star Wars books since i don't really have any yet. There's not really anything for the Tarantino movies except script books but there are these two:

Damn, those pics are old :lol

That be this one.

[ame="https://www.amazon.com/Kubrick-Definitive-Michel-Ciment/dp/0571211089/ref=sr_1_10?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1306161946&sr=1-10"]Amazon.com: Kubrick: The Definitive Edition (9780571211081): Michel Ciment, Gilbert Adair, Robert Bononno, Martin Scorsese: Books[/ame]

There's a lot of screencaps from all his movies and behind the scenes pics but it also talks a lot about the making of each movie, how he got started, the way he works, what the movies or certain scenes mean. Also interviews with people who worked with him, how they met him and came to work with him and what it was like and so on. A really good book.

Re: Art Books

I'd get the marvel movie book if what I see looks cool enough. If its not much different than what I have I won't. Basically they're gonna have to have plenty of new content.

Re: Art Books

I wish more video game art books would get made.
I'd like the Gears books collected and put into a bigger format.
An Elderscrolls collection would be nice, the Fallout series as well.
Video games now a days have almost as big a production values as most movies with as much concept art easily.
Seem's they have to be mega hits like Halo to get any kind of comprehensive treatment.

Re: Art Books

Yeah, I'd like to get a Gears book. There is the small one with the game and a art type book with the limited game guide from part one but thats it.

Yeah one of the major reasons Im getting the epic edition of Gears of War 3 is because of the 96 pg art book. I remember when Warcraft 3 came out several years ago, I didnt even have a good PC to play it, but I bought the special edition because I wanted the artbook. If you guys havent seen it, you gotta pick up the God of War 3 artbook or the art of Darksiders both books are excellent and worth every penny.

Re: Art Books

I would kill for a 'Kill Bill' art book...

'Inglorious Basterds,' as well.

Re: Art Books

BTW -- How's the Matrix art book?

I'd love artbooks for The Elder Scrolls games! TES is one my favourite videogame series!

Hopefully we'll see artbooks for these games, some day! :rock :rock :rock

Re: Art Books

Awesome pics there Entity.

Totally happy that I ordered that this morning now! Decided to get it from someone selling through Amazon, as all official stores (Amazon, WHSmiths etc) had a dispatch date like 3 weeks away.

The pictures definitely look amazing. As I said in the Thor thread I love to see all the Behinds the Scenes things, and even high quiality promo shots, so this should definitely be a great book.

I just hope mine turns up in good condition what with Royal Mail being...well, Royal Mail haha.

You can order it direct from amazon.com with shipping it still worked out cheaper than uk price

Re: Art Books

Went to the "Art in the Streets" exhibit at MOCA here in Los Angeles yesterday on a day off from work. Amazing exhibit if you dig graff and street art. So much goodness in one place!

And to boot, I was walking around and who was standing in his installation just hanging out... Shep Fairey! Walked right up to him, had a nice little conversation, heard a couple stories and had him sign my program.

Picked up the show catalog in the gift shop. Pretty friggin sweet art book:
