Yeah, seeing 17 minutes of the movie as a preview is a no go for me. With that much time, I'm well into the movie at that point and ready to watch it until the end. Wouldn't be very fun, for me personally.

I think the point is to draw in people who aren't already interested in the movie. They're also doing some sort of 20 minute preview at Disneyland. Again, probably with the intent of bringing in people who previously weren't interested.

I'm sure as heck not going to see either of those.

I just watch the exclusive 49 minute tease of the movie. Looks great. Makes me wonder what the movie's about.

When we were at Wondercon this spring, we saw the HTTYD2 panel, and they were giving away tickets to see THE FIRST HOUR OF THE MOVIE at a local theater that night.

It wouldn't even get close to the big finish given that Marvel movies tend to be 2 hours. You'd get like half way through and you'd miss a majority of the good stuff. Doesn't even sound like fun. Brilliant promotion

I don't even like the idea of seeing 17 minutes of the film early so there's no way I'd go see an hour. I think I'd just be mad that I saw enough to start getting into it and then have to wait to see the rest. It's gotten to the point where I'm avoiding all the behind the scenes and character clips anyway. I miss the experience of going to see a film and being surprised. Studios are releasing way too much early footage nowadays.

Definitely. With so many movies being released, studios have to make a big chunk of the domestic box office on opening weekend because hardly any film has any longevity in theaters anymore--especially with Summer and holiday releases. In an attempt to prove that the film has something for everyone they end up showing too much. I don't know how many films I've seen in which all the good parts in the trailer--but who cares as long as they get the $ for a ticket.

I always wish I hadn't seen the trailers and previews right before I head into the cinema, it would make the movie soooo much better if I knew nothing..... but these days its impossible not to see something before release
