Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Guardians of The Galaxy - Collectible Figurines

August 2014 dude, we could see the first figure out by the end of the year, Hot Toys have a year to get their act together :p

Either way if we go by the Avengers line by the end of 2015 we should have the full team.

Well that was the Avengers the, I guess flagship of Marvel titles and also their second attempts at most of them (a few more for you know who). I think we will get all of the figures, I just think some may be in the Avengers Age of Ultron line rather then Guardians of the Galaxy one.

Is it out in August? Thats awesome, means its basically a year away. I've been under the impression it was the standard November release.

Oh really I would like to see this raccoon against the Avengers it would look so out of place you can introduce whatever alien you want in this movie since it outside the traditional marvel universe, but do you really expect this raccoon to be seen in a Captain America Movie or how about Iron Man come on. What nonsense is he saying. And yes WW is a difficult character to adapt she has the strength and flight of superman and poses a rope that makes you tell the truth and oh she is the daughter of a god and in another version was fashioned out of clay

DC universe is based on science and technology not myths and legends. Hence all the characters are grounded in reality including how their powers work.

The above should be forwarded to WB execs and tattooed on their foreheads so it s the first thing they see in the morning. And the last thing at night. That is superbly written.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Guardians of The Galaxy - Collectible Figurines

Kind of sums it up. As Red Skull said (paraphrased) Marvel has embraced it proudly.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Guardians of The Galaxy

hope we get the whole team but 100% we will get Star-Lord and Rocket Racoon, this film will make Chris Pratt a huge star

:exactly::lecture:goodpost::hi5:

Pepper Potts has been in all 3 Iron Man movies and The Avengers and she still has no figure.

Good damn gravy! There's been how many X-Men comics, movies, cartoons, and video games? And we get only Wolverine in 2 different versions? Oh, and that TTM with the unofficial Taylor Kitsch/Gambit sculpt. HT does a half-@$$ed reveal of a proto of Prof. X, and it's not even the most iconic version of the character. Sheeeeeeiiiit.
Here ya go, Howard:moon

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Guardians of The Galaxy - Collectible Figurines

I must say, its about time they made Pepper.

I too love X-Men and I am definitely dying to find out what figures (if any right?) from Days of Future Past they will make. I WANT THEM ALL Lol. With all the Iron Man suits HT is making, seriously, how well is Iron Man selling? Enough to stop on other Licenses?

I agree with all of this, but obviously WB/DC doesn't make movies that they want to apologize for. Both Marvel and DC reinterpret their characters on the big screen to humanize them, make them interesting yet relatable to the audience, though DC clearly has a lower success rate. Not saying that every Marvel Studio effort is a home run - far from it - but even their weakest films are miles better than GL. Heck I'd even argue Marvel's worst efforts are just a tad below MoS.

I just think that from a organization leadership and creative standpoint, Marvel Studios simply has WB/DC beat. WB's leadership woes are pretty widely documented prior to Tsujihara, and honestly I don't know if anyone in DCE is actually in charge of the creative process when it comes to their films (they seem to just be consultants). Marvel has Kevin Fiege and his staff, 'nuff said.

Marvel was able to find a tonal balance that combined fun, humor, and drama starting with the first Iron Man, and they've stuck with it since. DC on the other hand is still struggling to find that long term vision, and I personally feel they're inappropriately just sticking with the familiarity of the TDK movies when it comes to their approach with future DC films. DC thinks they're playing it safe while Marvel is taking risks with GotG and Ant Man. Hard to say if Marvel's gambles will bear fruit but they've been doing a damn solid job so far while DC has hits and misses.

If Ted can work, then Rocket can work.

I was as skeptical as anyone when it came to making Thor work on the big screen. I'm, of course, now more than convinced and have not doubted Marvel Studios since.

I guess once you get thor out of the way anything is easy at that point.

A-freaking-Men.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Guardians of The Galaxy - Collectible Figurines

Personally i dont mind them not making x-men stuff, cause for me their outfits aren't comic styled enough to be worth getting, most of the time they look like normal people with powers, except the leather suit things. But again i've seen those movies very few times as the characters don't interest me that much movie wise, which is a shame as i used to love the cartoon.

As for GOTG, i think we'll get an idea of how many figures we may get from it via the amount of figures HT make for Cap & Thor 2 as i doubt they'll go IM3 on us.

Of the announced characters so far i'd love figures of all he Guardians & Ronan the Accuser. Hopefully Thanos and Nova appear too.

With Nova Prime and the Corps in the movie, I'd be very disappointed if they didn't.
