well the figures that 3A currently make are true to the stylised art of ashley, remember to date all 3A figures are from Ash's characters.

so i would say that the figures they produce will not be an interpretation/stylisation of what is on the page but a true representation.

the most recent quote of interest is this -

'start with the cursed earth storyline, and go from there. To me JD started with that epic, yea some previous stories were cool, and had some great characters, but the cursed earth story really brought home the mad world of JD !'

Judge Dredd and the Dark Judges, Angel Gang, Judge Child, Chopper...... OH MY GOD THRILL OVERLOAD!!!!!!!!!

over the years there has been so many versions of tharg so i guess no matter which one gets released some people will love it and some won't but for certain it will be signed off by 2000AD and represented as best as possible by 3A

for me it wasn't what i was expecting but i'm sure it will grow on me especially after we get a full reveal.

:banana

I can see how 2000ad purists will love it and Ash has certainly put his unique style on it, but being a younger 2000ad fan 90's+ I would have preferred a cleaner more humanoid look that tharg gained as the comic got older.

I'd consider myself a purist, I hate it.

I don't know the character, but it looks like other 3A figures - about what I'd expect. But certainly not cheap and badly made looking.

We'll have to agree to disagree except the won't be cheap bit.
Reading on the blog they're doing a 'Gronk' next............give me strength, waste of a licence.
The real shame is someone like Popculture didnt get it.

Looks cool as hell to me. Looks like an Eric Bradbury/Ashley Wood hybrid to me. I guess people wanted a "realistic" portrait?

Ash has said that the picture is of the prototype and that he wants to change a few details so we'll have to wait and see the final product but, I can't see it changing radically.

Also he said that all the figures including street judges are going to be grimy looking like all their figures even the chief judge!
