Searched for a thread, but couldn't find it. Soo... who here watches Kung Fu movies??? I've been going through a lot of them lately. And thanks to Hong Kong Dynasty movies I've found that they are reviving this genre. Here are the top three that I've watched this week:
Flash Point
Fatal Contact
Kill Zone

What do you guys think???

I enjoy watching movies from Asian Cinema and not just Kung Fu movies. My recent movies were Flash Point (amazing last fight; Collin Chou died like five times I thought:google), Ichi the Killer, Sympathy for Mr. Vengence, Sympathy for Mrs. Vengence and War Lords. I try to buy a bunch of movies at once from ebay usually every other month. By the way, how was Fatal Contact and Kill Zone?

IMO - One of the best ones in KUNG FU THEATER was one called

"Five Deadly Venoms."

LOVE Asian Cinema.

I like the Kurosawa time of movies, like Seven Samurai and Throne of Blood. Other brilliant Kurosawas:

Ran
Rashomon
Hidden Fortress
Yojimbo

In addition:
Everything with Toshire Mifine
Ong Bak
Ong Bak 2 (forget what it's called)
Hero
House of Flying Daggers
Drunken Master 2
Azumi
Aragami

I really like Donnie Yen though, so I will check out Flash Point.

Fatal Contact was kind of weak, but the fight scene was cool.

I enjoyed KillZone aka Sha Po Lang [SPL]. Even though it's an old movie, it's still very fun to watch. The US market change the name from SPL to KillZone.

I have about 500+ Asian movies in my DVD collection.

There are too many recommendation, but let me know what type of asian movies you like (gangster? comedy? martial art? etc?)

The most recent ones that I enjoyed is Seven Days. It's a thriller movie that keeps you on your seat from the beginning to the end. The Korean actress from the TV show Lost is the main character of this movie.

Below are just some of my recommendation:

Here's a trailer of Invisible Target: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT7FaVt2wLw

Here's a trailer of Seven Days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbuPyiEbFVM

Here's a trailer of Arahan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1dLQ6P_6QI

Here's a trailer of Sunflower: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OT84yj0LtJQ

Here's a trailer of Taegukgi (Brotherhood of War): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkcvERlVbRE

Here's a trailer of Once Upon A Time In High School: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3447psoV-us

I think you might be referring to the Protector (Tom Yum Gun). Ong Bak 2 is currently in production/in-the-making if I am correct.

This is very true. Besides the major blockbuster movies (most which are just re-hashs), I don't watch as many Hollywood movies anymore. I always look forward to new foreign films, esp. those that debut at Cannes.

Regardless of genre, what are your top 10 or so Asian films?

It's hard to limit just to 10 movies, but I would consider the list below as my top movies of all time for Asian movies. It includes melodrama, martial art, comedy, war, etc.

Bittersweet Life
Classic
Friend
Hero
House of Flying Daggers
Infernal Affairs
Kung Fu Hustle
Memories of Murder
Moment To Remember
My Sassy Girl
OldBoy
Seven Days
Sunflower
Taegukgi

Funnest one is one I have no clue of the name, but it has some old blind guy that has a thing on a chain that cuts peoples heads off lol.

Same here....I only watch action blockbuster movies like Iron Man, etc. Otherwise, I rather spend time watching asian movies.

I guess you're probably anticipating for The Good, The Bad and The Weird? and The Chaser? Both of them are MUST SEE!!

The Good, The Bad, and The Weird trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4fD0f5fDlk

The Chaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBRx7aDRRrU

(This movie was based on a true serial killer. The US has already bought the rights to this movie as they're planning to do a remake of it)

Fatal Contact rocks, So does Kill Zone, but it was a little slow at times.

Ong Bak 2 isn't out yet that I know of, but Tony Jaa did have The Protector which is what many people think it is. Check out the link in my Sig!!! for the best representation of Flash Point

I like Fatal Contact a lot, but everyone's opinions vary. And I hate when they change the name in the U.S., not when they translate it into English, but something completely different. and pics of the collection or it doesn't exit!!!!

yes, it was the Protector I was talking about, not Ong Bak 2. Outstanding Martial Arts. best scene was the hotel scene where he is running up the stairs - all done in one take.

I'm putting Flash Point on the netflix list right now. looks amazing!

please put:

Fulltime Killer

on your priority list

you are welcome.

Battle Royale I and II...

Great stuff, and they can't be remade...no matter what anyone says...
