So they are not the same? Aren't they symmetrical, with identical designs on the leather?
The Sideshow ones look the same to me:

Take a look at where the buckles are on the Sideshow vambraces, there is a definite left and right.

I don't remember having a problem with the boots - maybe some folks did, but whatever posing I did - I'm very happy with the figure after a few tweaks.

Faramir, Captain of Gondor... you know the rest!
Asmus has shown plenty of it on this figure too, for the most part I'm impressed, and glad to finally put him where he belongs with the TT gang

You sure of that? These pics from a recent partout of the figure seem to prove that Asmus Faramir's vambraces are indeed symmetrical. Unless the pics have been manipulated by the seller to cover for the problem, what is actually the problem then?
LMK
Thx.

I took the image, put it in photoshop, duplicated then flipped the one on the right horizontally, and placed it on top of the one on the left (with a slight transparency)...
It is the exact same pic on both sides, they just flipped it.
here it is with the one on the right just flipped...every mark is identical.

I must apologize.
What you did, I should have done. Shame on me. :-(

I take it that Asmus won't provide a fix (will they?), so has anyone proposed any imaginative fix to this stupid mistake by Asmus? Does anyone on e.g. Etsy make replacements for the wrong vambrace? I just don't feel like trying to get the Sideshow ones. To me, they don't look good by today's standards.

BTW, I still don't own the figure, so what stuff are the Asmus ones made of? Rubber? ABS? The don't look like fabric or pleather.

I have also read on this thread that there were issues w/ the quiver. What were they? Were they severe issues?

Any help will be welcomed.
Thx.

Cool. 😁

The quiver is attached to the strap in the wrong direction, so you have to peel the strap off and reglue. I think the Sideshow vambraces are fine, and for the time, Sideshow seems to have done quite a good job on the ME figs, which I think were only 60$ or so at the time.

Both vambrace sets seem to be soft plastic or vinyl as I recall. My Faramir is packed away at the moment. I'm glad to have him even with some foul-ups, he looks great. ASMUS' "issue" is not easy to spot, it may bother some collectors. Dunno about Etsy.

Asmus have terrible custum service,if you have any problem with the figure bought from them on the website
They don't even reply to your email if you have problems
This is not how you should treat your customers
I am disappointed

YMMV but having had way too many problems with figures from Asmus than one should, (for me at least)
They have always (with a bit of prodding) made the situation right.
