$189.97 at EKIA Hobbies. BBTS's original $239 price was obviously way off and even at $219 doesn't make much sense.

Yeah, BBTS is the high priced one as usual. I'm getting a little aggravated about it when I see savings like this everywhere else.

Ekia is in CA so I get hit with taxes.... and yet it would still be cheaper for me to order thru Ekia. :slap

I think I'm going to cancel BBTS and go with Timewalker Toys on this one. I've heard that Steve is very accommodating over there, but does anyone know how quickly they receive their stock? There's a long delay with BBTS but I think they may still receive sooner than Timewalker.

i like asmus HS than ACI... damn decision to purchase this gonna be hard...

asmus nail the 1st HS ..
but the clothing man it look messy the good thing its more screen accurate than aci .
cool dirty finger...
cool base i know it going to be heavy
Buuttt...
asmus using KP01A body from kaustic plastic which is the same body as their Morgul/nazgul i know how they couldnt lift the sword and somehow i find it fragile...
even Kaustic not selling this KP01 ANYMORE..

damn...cool figure but im so afraid of the body durability.

No question. The ACI must look incredible in hand, because I haven't been impressed by it in any of the pics I've seen. Asmus Aragorn looks like he's blowing out his cheeks a bit, but every bit of the ACI set looks doll-like in comparison.

Timewalker is about as slow as BBTS, but I prefer them over BBTS or MOAF as those two always seem on the high end. Steve and Margaret are VERY customer oriented, and always willing to fix problems and answer questions.

I still think that sculptwise the ACI is closer to this:

Yet outfit looks really good on Asmus.

The more I look at the sculpt, the more it grows on me. I like the subtle colour changes to his skin and the beard looks great.

I think it's the hair that is throwing it off.

Anyone with any photoshop skill - can you edit the hair out and replace it with the real actor's hair?

These pictures side by side pretty much shows what the sculpt would look like w/ his actual hair (the face and position is almost identical except he's looking down in the still)

Asmus - Almost there - you just need to de-puffy the cheeks. Let Aragorn exhale.:lol Try a flatter chin & maybe give him a little more forehead with a few strands of hair off to the sides to accent his face. A little bit less Tom Selleck in the 'stache would be alright too. If you can nail this picture - I'm sold.

Yup, for me personally, the big thing is the hair...Almost no layer-like to it...like he just got out of the shower.
I know in many of the scenes Viggo's hair looks wet, but its more like sweaty wet, where you have strands everywhere.
And the other thing is the mustache...its too thick.
I think just fixing those can have a huge impact.

I feel bad for Asmus right now, this lil plastic head is ready to go, no more tweaks

Hey, if a few tweaks gets them 50% more preorders - I think Asmus will find that an hour or three of tweaking w/ the sculpt is worth it.

There has to be a time when they say it's as good as it's going to get. So they fix your tweaks. What happens when the next collector says, well it's almost there. You just need to smooth this out or make this more angular or lower the hairline or raise the hairline. Before long the sculpt is nothing like this and they start all over again. Asmus it's time for production.
