I have the ACI Aragorn and I freaking love it. When I first saw these photos I laughed. But to be honest the more I look at them the more I'm liking them. Yes there are issues, but the ACI one has issues as well. I'll definitely be ordering this and I hope it's better in hand. The main issue for me is the puffy cheeks and the hair, but I can't really give final judgment until it's in my hands.

Edited post as i was harsh. I wish the sculpt will get improved more as i really want an aragorn figure. The clothes and stand are really good. Clothing looks a tiny but loose compared to aci toys. Think a few strands of hair to go over the face will look nice and maybe the hair to be darkened more in areas. I think the eyes are the part that need the work. Sorry if i broke any rules i was just saying what i thought without thinking.

The more I look at the sculpt, the more it grows on me. I like the subtle colour changes to his skin and the beard looks great.

I think it's the hair that is throwing it off.

Anyone with any photoshop skill - can you edit the hair out and replace it with the real actor's hair?

I posted this a few pages back. Just darkened it real fast...makes a difference to my eyes.

to be honest, this took them 2 years apparently, and i think the sculpt is absolutly garbage to be totally honest, it looks Nothing like him, horrible face expression it looks like some random man dressed as aragorn, the clothes are ok but arent really a nice fit compared to Aci's, the stand is really good, im not going to kid myself into thinking it looks like viggo mortensen cause it simply doesnt.

No mention about including the Extra headsculpt. Great price... almost seems too good.



But that does it. I'm cancelling my BBTS order and going somewhere else. Too many retailers under $200 now.

Ops, my mistake , I checked the price on my cellphone, forgot to switch currency.
I`ll go back and change that !

This actually looks pretty good. The problem with Asmus figures as someone already mentioned is the crappy body they use. Can't hold the weight of a sword over head and it's fairly fragile.

So disappointed this is as expensive as it is, though I understand why it is. Looking forward to in hand pics as I really can't decide between this and the ACI I have. I will probably sell my ACI anyhow. It's currently my only 1/6 LotR figure and while I really want Asmus Gandalf, Witch King and Eowyn, I can't afford to buy them all right now so if anything I'll pick them up later on and just focus on finishing my LotR PF line. I wish I could have everything, but c'est la vie.

And about the figure, I find the normal headsculpt very acceptable, it has a very good likeness and the hair looks fine to me.. The ACI's hair is a mess and a lot of the in hand pics I've seen, only a few people had a decent hair. It needs a lot of futzing and hair products, and cuts, and it seems that a lot of people can't do that, hence the "bad wig" look..

The cloths look ok too, a little bit dark for me but ok.. I have no plans for now on buying a LOTR figure except for Asmus Gandalf the grey.. But might consider this Aragorn depending on the final product.. Let's see..

Accidentally forgot to login and it took me to the very first post when I hit "last post read"... so what do you think? Did we help or hurt it?

As far as I stand I think the offer available is pretty tempting. I ordered an ACI limited but my vendor is citing problems which leads me to believe that I may not end up getting one. Regardless, I try to contemplate buying the current offering with the knowledge that there may be no reasonable alternative and I have to say I am torn. The face looks pretty good but looks a little bloated. The hair for me is a bit troublesome... it looks the same as the original sculpt on that and from what I saw in the Gandalf the White, Saruman and Tauriel threads, the hair sculpts looking freaking awesome and I am generally against anything beyond nape of neck, bob type hair being sculpted because of how it looks in any turned head/action poses. I just don't understand why that isn't on par with those.

I love Asmus, based on the figures of theirs I have, and my only gripe (and it is serious in this case) is the bodies and their ability to be posed. I have concerns if this is anything like the Black Rider of Mordor's body but, beyond all that, I think they did a good job on the accessories and outfit.
