Sculpt doesn't immediately grab me. But it's not as essential that he looks perfect as aragorn and Legolas to me.

I'm really tempted. However I don't know for which version! I have Legolas and the slim Aragorn pre ordered, I think the rooted hair on aragorn looks great but on boromir not as nice. And I feel the sculpted hair looks a bit sideshow boromir-Esque

Ordered! So happy they threw in both cloaks! :clap

I agree the sculpt seems off some but it is not enough to be a deal breaker for me. If the release date is 4th 2017 it might already be too late to make any changes. The outfit and accessories look top notch.

Yea it's weird how the molded sculpt looks more accurate than the rooted sculpt. I can see Sean Bean in there but like all of their sculpts, it's not 100%. As soon as I seen it on FB this morning I thought to myself that most wouldn't be happy. FB is ripping the sculpt pretty good. Everything else looks stellar though. It became obvious to me early on that their sculpts weren't going to be perfect likeness and I just accept it.

PO'ed the sculpted hair version. I jumped when i saw the rooted version on Facebook, but this one convinced me :

Maybe i am in the minority after reading comments here and on facebook....I think the rooted hair after you futz it up a bit and frame the face with it better will help....and honestly no I don't see a game of thrones older Sean bean....but I do see the younger Sean bean as he appeared in lord of the rings....he has gotten very grizzled in his older years...but when lord of the rings was going he had a much younger look....I think the sculpt does capture that....if you go to there main page they have a side view of the sculot that I think helps the likeness.....just my thoughts....preordered the rooted hair version and am very excited about this one. Also...remember thranduil....pretty images came out anarchy ensued....figure came out....you can no longer find them ANYWHERE

Asmus isn't stupid. They've been showing off teasers of the accessories for Boromir and hiding the head until now because they KNOW it's awful and that fans were going to flip out when they saw it. =\

Cant decide which hair version to get. Asmus what product is best used to style the rooted hair please?

Nice surprise to wake up to, ordered the rooted version and threw in the rooted Aragorn head while I was there. Only one more to finish the fellowship!!

It seems every time Asmus release photos of an upcoming release they get slayed on social media then they show in hand pics and the tide of public opinion slowly turns. Ive preordered and can't wait.

Thinking the same thing. People (mostly on Facebook) are a bit overreacting. "Waaaa worst sculpt ever i'll order two please waaaaa"

It's a shame that the boots looked to be a hard sculpt with no ankle articulation unlike Legolas' boots and the brilliant fabric Aragorn boots (from the first release).

The beard and eyebrows are painted inaccurately which is throwing the portrait off quite a bit and the hair needs to be really limp and frame his face more (probably why the hard sculpted hair looks better in the pictures as the rooted hair needs some serious futzzing). Think I will get the sculpted and re-hair it.

It's not all bad news of course and other than my gripes mentioned above this release is packed with everything I could want from an accessories and outfit perspective.

When I covered up the eyes my wife immediately said "Is that supposed to be David Beckham?"
I feel like the comments they are receiving on Facebook are fair. Maybe collectors on here have slowly become used to these off sculpts so often that they are now accepting their fate. This is not an accurate sculpt by any means. "Oh it kind of looks like him if you turn him to the side."

The reality is the figures sell out because there are no other options to choose from. It's this or nothing. To be honest my sideshow version has remained on the shelf with all my Asmus and ACI figures and does the job. But I have really, really, really looked forward to upgrading with this release. So disappointed. But of course I will pre-order because as I said, it's this or nothing...
My hope is the in hand product will be vastly superior.

At the end of the day Asmus I would like to applaud you for including the capes, for the willingness to try and please the masses by attempting both sculpted and haired versions of the head sculpt, and for making the accessories incredibly detailed.

Also I'm surprised there is no special base released in a exclusive collectors edition of some sort? For some reason I assumed they were going to give him a scenery base.
