I sent them my monthly message last week and they FINALLY had the improved Ash's in stock, so mine is currently on the way.

Yeah, they sent me my invoice a few hours after I posted this morning. They must've been reading the forums or something ...

Great looking Ash! Can I ask how you did the “wet” blood? Planning on grunging up my regular Ash.

Thank you. I used Citadel blood paint and once that was dry I went over with gloss varnish to seal the paint and keep that wet look.

Opened my birthday present this morning.
Out of the box, bit of futzing. Planning on a bit more grunge, but really happy with it. My only real nitpick is the lack of torso articulation.

So after spending most of spring trashing this figure based upon the pictures I finally got around to opening my luxury edition last night.
I love Evil Dead 2 too much to be able to bring myself to cancel.
Have to say, this figure is awesome! Perfect? No.

The pictures definitely don’t do it justice…I feel a bit guilty for having been so hard on Asmus with all of the joy that this figure is bringing me.

Yep! ^ I cancelled my pre-order when those first in-hand pics came out all those months ago. It seemed like a disappointing release with some glaring QC issues. Gotta say that I'm so glad I changed my mind and picked him up. Still planning on adding some extra blood and grime, but with some careful futzing (shimmy those pants a tad lower!) and working on some hero poses, he truly comes to life and has great shelf presence. I hope the figure gets redeemed enough so Asmus does some more ED stuff. Not sure how the licensing works, but some AOD releases would be amazing.

^Each to their own. Personally, I am more than happy with my regular edition out of the box and just futzed a little. I understand that the deluxe probably needs more modding due to those exposed arms and the body in general, so fair point.

Having finally seen it in person at Forbidden Planet last weekend, I absolutely agree. It looks even worse than in photos, so I'm very happy I cancelled. That dodgy eye stands out so much more in person, the likeness is even more absent and the hand colour doesn't match the head at all. I like the heavy customization people have done to Ash to get him to a presentable state, but out of the box, it's utterly unacceptable for the price.

No mods at all. Just moved the clothing around a bit. Lowered the pants and slightly untucked the shirt, pulled the collar down.
Planning on a very light wash to give him a hint of 5'o'clock shadow, some dirt/blood on his neck, then a bit more blood and grunge on the shirt.
I was inspired by Dean Knight's video below.
But really, futzing/posing/lighting can vastly improve the overall look of a figure. I don't have the immediate urge to mod mine for now. I'm pretty satisfied with how he looks on my desk

Finally got my Luxury Edition from KGHOBBY today.... And it's missing the entire second clamshell packaging underneath along with Deadite Ash head, Linda head, seamless arms and torn shirt. Pretty annoyed right now, sent a message to kghobby but obviously this is Asmus Toys fault. I heard people have had stuff missing sometimes, and i thought there would be some other problem, but an entire section of accessories!? So crap.

That sucks. This is the kind of thing Asmus really needs to get on top of. For all the positives they have, this stuff really takes the shine off. I hope they can sort it out for you.
