Got this figure last Friday and went for a little shoot today. I'm very glad I pulled the trigger in the end. I wasn't sure, if I should get any hobbits at all and I'm not the biggest fan of sculpted hair either - but I think the face, outfit, feet and ring look great on this figure.

Thanks. I only read in this thread about the eyes. I have a blue eyed one with the star pattern...Ordered from MoF. Still surprised that I like his face more than on the pics i've seen in the internet so far. But thinking about replacing the hair, not sure yet.

That's good. Seems Asmus fixed their output.

I got the dreaded sickly Frodo skin tone with the green eyes. I can only use him for Shelob-stung Frodo.

I wouldn't touch the hair unless you had another sculpt as insurance.

This was one sculpt where the hair looked fantastic.

Thanks guys, I didn't even know i was playing the lottery here when I ordered this. Glad i got the good one. And yes the hair look quiet good for sculpted ones on him.
I even ordered another head of frodo on ebay two days ago to try out rooting, but the seller messaged me, it was a listing error and not in stock anymore. So i might leave him as is

yes, we still have it in mind, we just need to jam it into our production line,
hopefully by the end of summer, we will have it ready

Just checking in again on the Frodo replacement head as its been nearly a year since the above comment. Is this still in mind or no?

Is this Frodo considered the same or similar to the 401s Slim Frodo? I?m really confused which Frodo is which and it doesn?t help I can?t find boxed pics for the Silm Frodo.

Not sure what you mean with "401s" Slim Frodo. There were 3 versions of Frodo released:

1. The original version.
2. Initial release "Slim" version with good paint applications (blue eyes and healthy skin tone.)
3. Subsequent release "Slim" version with not so good paint applications (green eyes and sickly skin tone.)

Someone had posted a side-by-side pic earlier in this thread.

I fortunately received a good "Slim" version, pre-ordering straight from Asmus.

Frodo-gate is still the greatest travesty by an otherwise great company.

I ordered directly from Asmus as well and I believe I was the first to receive the green-eyed-monster, and as you can see at the top of the page we've been promised a replacement head for years now, but still nothing. It is the one thing that I cannot forgive. I mean, its Frodo -- the lead hero of the saga. The one I have looks like dinner for Shelob.

I don’t think Asmus has the capital right now to be able to give anything out for free. Maybe some time down the road but I think it would be detrimental to the company health right now

That’s twice I’ve seen you say they’re in financial dire straights due to Covid; is there any evidence of that or just assuming because most companies are taking some
damage? I wouldn’t imagine they’ve been too badly affected. I guess they’ve had shipping restrictions and a bit of a delay with Twilight Witch King but unless loads of people cancelled orders or are avoiding buying due to their own financial troubles then it’s probably not that bad. They’ve officially announced Galadriel and shown updates on Crown Gandalf during the pandemic. It just seems like ‘business as usual.’

So I just got Sam in directly from Asmus. First time ordering directly from them. I have two issues. First, the scabbard belt came completely deteriorated and is split and peeled. Second, is it normal for the head to be filled with a black foam that stains the neck?

What the.... Foam in his neck? I've never seen that before.
