Asmus Toys: Gandalf the White

The GtG repaint looks fantastic. I wonder if SS and Asmus will be the same relative scale or if these will be slightly smaller like HT. I have yet to see a decent Aragorn resculpt or repaint though. Compare the figure head sculpt to SS's 1:6 statue. I hope they do a nicer job on the Hobbit and Dwarf bodies.

Well you have to love how they seem to be reading to what potential customers are saying. If they keep this up and the quality is there I could see Asmus really growing as a company.

They're going gangbusters. I was going to pass on this for a secondary market GtG, but those don't come up very often and I'd have to add the cost of a repaint to it. The beard rework on this sealed the deal. The figure looks great to me, and the MSRP seams a bargain compared to where prices are at for higher end figures now. 4 left at BBTS.

New stitching looks very nice. Looking forward to this. I wonder how long before sneaks of Aragorn start showing up. That one of the females will set the bar for the regular human figures. I know Gandalf is technically human as well, but I think characters with heavy beards and wrinkles have a little more latitude. I think you can get away more with a Gimli than a Legolas. Regardless, the company really seems to be putting passion into the line which will hopefully translate into the final products.

Regarding Darren's Aragorn from earlier, I'd actually considered getting that and Legolas at the time. They were huge improvements, but then I sold off the LotR figures. But the best Aragorn sculpt out there IMO is Sideshow's 1:6 statue.

Wow talk about an improvement! It makes me incredibly happy that our feedback is affecting the final product!! I cannot wait for this figure now! The beard and the stitching was by no means a deal breaker for me... But now this figure will be perfect! I highly look forward to the work on other human characters! I would love a Gimli!

Might be the lighting but the hand color doesn't match the head sculpt. Not a huge grip but I hope I am wrong. Hard to tell how good the head sculpt is because of the lighting. Asmus sure came out with a lot of pictures this weekend.
