I am excited about the prospect, even if my budget is not. And a bit sad for Asmus who stuck with the line all these years. On the other hand, how many times did Asmus come up short during that same period? Only a few outright gems in the bunch. Love my collection but would switch no questions asked if QS can deliver what Asmus couldn’t.

Interesting as well that QS is going for articulation as well. I had assumed a statue as that is their background.

I am really worried about the price.
Maybe 600$ for each figure

I haven't been back here since I first bought the figure. Anyone else have problems with the mailbox? The tooling is bad. The post barely sits into the base and eventually falls out. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on a better fix other than blu- tack?
Warm up the fittings first with a hair dryer/heat gun. Makes it easier to push them into place.

If so I will stick to Asmus...
Me too. ASMUS has done a stellar job - often with diecast swords and multiple accessories - and kept within a reasonable price point. At 500-600$ a figure I might as well switch to high end statues, which I won't. Also I am suspicious of the longevity of these "lifelike" pieces which may or may not involve silicon or something I have to fuss over, like the recommendation to powder Phicen bodies (for instance).

This. Even if they are 375-400 I’m sticking with Asmus. Same price better quality? Hmmm
Doubt the price will be the same as ASMUS with better quality. I mean, it would be nice if Rohirrim 1/6 costumes were full grain stamped leather etc. but there's reasons we don't see hand done, to scale chain mail in 1/6.
Although, since Gandalf's costume is mostly cloth, there could be things like a light up staff, or something. A nice sculpt with punched hair. And a nice price to go with.

I’m extremely happy with my Asmus collection.
Sure, there have been some hiccups in quality along the way, but for the most part they’ve done a fantastic job, and have gone deeper into character selection than we’re likely to get from any other 1:6 line.
I *may* pick up a couple select QS figures, depending on the price, but they won’t replace my existing 40+ figure Asmus collection.

Would still like to see Asmus tackle “Willow” btw. With the new series in production, maybe there will be renewed interest. Although, with it being Disney, would the licence automatically go to Hot Toys?

Anyone looking for this? Trying to get rid of it. Opened but never removed or displayed.

Shipping cost is high though so prices as below:

UK: £310
US: $420

I will bail on Asmus in a heartbeat. Asmus has had the license for years to get the fellowship right. Gimli, Thorin, and possibly Theoden are close to top shelf. The rest have stellar clothing, weapons , etc. no doubt. Headsculpt? Not so much. I have given them my support. I have purchased from them or hunted down all the Asmus line, as well as restored several that were deteriorating. I won’t hesitate one second to buy the better figure, especially if it is a better Aragorn, or hobbits in general, from both series. No offence, but Galadriel is a travesty on the scale of those Elven warriors and archers. Beautiful gown—full stop.

I consider myself really lucky that I am only obsessive with certain characters from different Lines. As my Username suggests my favourite dwarf and character is an almost perfect Gimli from Asmus IMO. Not to mention the price and quality as well.
Everything can be improved of course but I am not sure that there could be such an incredible improvement in the case of Gimli for me that it would persuade me to pay 500-600 or maybe even more USD or EUR for it.
Its not just the amount of money at this point for me, I would certainly ask myself whether I am sane or completely lost it if I am willing to pay so much for a 1/6th Figure when I could get for 1200 USD or so a 1/4th Prime 1 Statue. I know Apples and Oranges but still.

So it says in the Facebook group that the team is being led by Viper, who did that incredible Gandalf the White custom.
