Base looks cool but how does Gandalf stand on it. The gate is right in the middle of the base and the figure holder is pointed sideways.

I guess the best way to display is have Gandalf off the base standing next to it?

Looks like the post to the crotch grab is circular so you can rotate it.

I would love it if they offered a bag end door similar to what they did for the hateful 8 cabin.

I am not typically into intricate figure bases but the party gate and sign is pretty iconic.

I've always wanted an Ian Holm Bilbo, but now I'm finding myself really wanting a "Gandalf's Arrival" Frodo now. In the blue shirt when he's carefree and unburdened by the Ring.

There's a chance I may have a problem.

I was wondering what the edition size of the crown GTG was too (already PO'd. It looks awesome!) but maybe it'll be a more permanent collection? ?

Asmus said due to the high level of work involved that it was going to be very limited.

I think their first GtG was limited to 1500?

So maybe this one is less than that? Dunno.

I think the diorama base is just about right in size and detail level.
Now please focus on the actual figure quality

Yesterday we had a major break in the heatwave in the form of storms and overcast. So I opened all my windows and put on LOTR all day, wife and kids and I had tea and snacked on meat and cheese and bread trays to keep with the style. I busted out my Asmus toys to repose with my kids and took a long hard look at the current GOTG head and compared it to the new sculpt while watching the movie..... I am ready for the new sculpt to come out now... Any updates on when it will be available Asmus?

Or is it himself a little short than he should be?
Also his back drape should be long enough to be dragging on the ground.

Aye, both garments are too short. The original release was like that too. Hopefully they'll fix it before release!

I'm not a fan of the plastic boots...the original had fabric if I remember correctly.

Edit: Scratch that, the Asmus site says they are fabric.

The pictures also emphasize the hat not being grey. Asmus, please correct the color!

Well in both of your screen shots you can clear see his boots. It doesn’t quite drag the ground but it’s close.
