ACII is much better than Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.

Hmmm well considering I haven't finished ACII I guess I shouldn't really say for 100%. However, Drakes is going to be tough to top IMO. It's like you were playing a hollywood blockbuster movie. But we will see. Again I am enjoying the ???? out of this game.

Ok, I got lucky and found all 100 Feathers !!!!!!! :rock
Above is obviously from a person who never found all 100. :lol
Actually, with the New Auditore Cape, I get 100% Full Noteriety wherever I go...
Ripping off posters, bribing.. etc is no longer available...
I don't know whether it was worth it.
I am being chased like ALL the time now... :monkey1

not yet :D
sorry for the miss information, i swear i heard it somewhere...

Just finished ACII last night. Finished uncharted 2 a couple of weeks earlier.

On a whole, I rate UCII slightly higher than ACII.

With UCII I just didn't want to put the controller down. The gameplay and narrative really draws you in & you just wanna keep playing.

With ACII, I find that after 1hour I've had enough & i'll need a little break. It's the kind of game that's great in small doses.

Also, the overall gameplay of UCII has a greater level of polish. Everything that i'm supposed to do in UCII feels intuitive.. even *end game spoiler*
shooting the blue sap to injure lazarevic.
.

With ACII there are bits where the gameplay just doesn't make sense & feels a little contrived. e.g. I was running around venice killing things for fun & I decided to whisk out my pistol to shoot some archers, but couldn't for some reason. I later worked out for myself that the game randomly blocks out use of certain weapons at certain times in certain areas without warning.

Batman is MUCH tougher than Nate Drake and Ezio. I mean, just look at his neck, it's more intimidating than Marcus Fenix's.

Germaine 'likes' someones suggestion for an HT Altair figure on FB.

Perhaps a hint, or perhaps she just likes the idea too...

It's nice to be optimistic, but take a look at HT's video game masterpieces line. It comprises one franchise. If they were going to do more video game figures any time soon, Assassin's Creed would be near the bottom of the list, imo.

DLC has been announced and dated for ACII:

You don't make an expected hit game with a 200-plus-person development team and not plan some sort of downloadable content. Assassin's Creed II is getting two large add-ons. The names of these packs suggest key story gaps will be filled.

Ubisoft's announced the DLC for ACII this afternoon and provided some basic facts. One release in January, another in February. No price was announced, both will be sold for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Nothing too weird there.

Ubisoft recommends that gamers keep 1 GB of space free for each release. That raises an eyebrow. the size is double the size of a Call of Duty map pack on the Xbox 360, half the size of a Grand Theft Auto IV episode.

Here's the part for the dedicated Assassin's players to sort out.

The January release is called the Battle of Forli.

The February one is the Bonfire of the Vanities.

Forli is a small city depicted in Assassin's Creed II. It is based on a real place where real battles occured. The not-always-reliable Wikipedia dates a Battle of Forli as having taken place in the 13th century, which would overlap with some of the events referenced in some of the texts and bonus material in Assassin's Creed II. Those alluded-to events precede the new game and bridge it back to the first Assassin's Creed, explaining why the new game is set in Italy.

Could the first DLC take place then? Here's something I found about that 13th-century Battle of Forli via a quick Google search. Note the reference to Dante Alligheri who - keeping spoilers from ACII to a minimum — is referenced in the main game.

With the collapse of Hohenstaufen power in 1257, Guido I da Montefeltro the staunchest imperial lieutenant, was forced to take refuge in Forlì, the only remaining Ghibelline stronghold in Italy.

He accepted the position of capitano del popolo and gained for Forlì some notable victories: against the Bolognesi at the Ponte di San Procolo, on June 15, 1275; against a Guelph allied force, including Florentine troops, at Civitella on November 14, 1276; and at Forlì itself against a powerful French contingent sent by Pope Martin IV, on May 15, 1282, in a battle cited by Dante Alighieri (who was hosted in the city in 1303 by Scarpetta Ordelaffi III). In 1282, Forlì's forces were led by Guido da Montefeltro. The famous astrologer Guido Bonatti (advisor of Emperor Frederick II, too) was one of his advisors.

That all seems like a stretch though. Another theory is that the Battle of Forli and the Bonfire of the Vanities releases will fill in two major gaps in the Assassin's Creed II chronology.

The game mostly depicts the adventures of the assassin Ezio Auditore in Italy, spanning the years 1476 to 1499. But it skips 1489-1498, which should be labeled as "sequence 12" and "sequence 13" in the game's DNA/menu-screen. Instead, the game skips from the 1488-set Sequence 11 to the 1499 Sequence 14. The biographical data in the game for the real historical figure Caterina Sforza, who crosses paths with Ezio briefly in Forli, refers to her rule of the region during those skipped years and the battles her militia fights, ultimately against another one of the game's major characters, Rodrigo Borgia. It would not be a shock to learn that the Battle of Forli DLC covers this material.

The Bonfire of the Vanities could also neatly fit into the sequence gap. The Bonfire was a real event which occurred in Florence in 1497. The game already includes a fully-rendered city of Florence, though portions of it have been locked off to players.

Ubisoft isn't saying anything more about the content and when it takes place. Asked about the DLC's timeframe, a Ubisoft representative told Kotaku that more would be revealed later this month and again in early January.

There may also be some other, smaller DLC on the way. The game's creative director, Patrice Desilets, had indicated to Kotaku in September that some of the bonus areas that were initially available only to GameStop consumers would also eventually be available to more players. But Ubisoft has provided no news about that.

i know the pistol and poisin were blacked out for a little but but it was because i couldnt kill one of the characters as he was a future assassin target and the game simply wouldn't let me kill him that soon. it was the mission where you first use your pistol to get the guy on the boat, the character who shows up to the party looking for you is the one you cant kill. i must have spent a good 10 min fighting him, than i justy ran off, lol

wow mr. negative in the thread, if you didnt play the game why are you here bashing it? yeah its sci fi, so?? what games do you play?

The ci-fi twist was lame and not needed, it would have been a much stronger game with that cliche hinge to it. Trust me if you played AC then you've basically played AC2, same name same game, same repetitive missions that bore you after an hour. Climb this high building, jump down, ease drop, follow this guy, kill him, run back to safety, repeat....ack!!!

Have you even played ACII? Stop trolling. Why should anyone "trust" someone who hasn't even played the game they are suggesting others to avoid?

Beat it the other day and the ending is definitely a WTF ending, but I liked it. Now I just have to find all of those damn feathers....

AC II is definitely on my "must-have" list this season. I wasn't fond of the first game because of the poorly implemented gaming mechanics, but part deux looks to be a major improvement. Ugh... too many games to get now, I'm having a hard time catching up!

Me too. I'm not really happy with the direction they are taking the story. I still have 28 feathers and 50 or so treasures left to find. Ok, so I'm getting pissed, but there are two treasures at the Montenegro (spell?) home base--- according to the treasure map there is one at the front of the building and one to the rear of the compound. I have looked 20 or so times trying to find them...anyone care to give their location???
I would've preferred the ending to add to the ageless plot of the Templars VS. Assassins battling over finding and controlling the multiple artifacts. But that's just me.

I'm on the same boat... didn't really like the whole sci-fi twist.

At this rate, ACIII could be based in LA with desmond running around kicking scientologist butt.

That's what I'm thinking. We'll still have him going back and forth through the Animus, but now it seems as he's a full pledged assassin now.

Well, assuming you were cognizant throughout most of AC1 and AC2, you'd realize that the whole game(s) is one part sci-fi and one part renaissance-period historical epic. It has always been that way.

You couldn't predict that the ending was going to be a bit sci-fi bent? Granted, even I couldn't predict the scale of the events, but I could have guessed there would be sci-fi elements in it.

Come on.

Can't comment on ACI as I didn't complete the game.

ACII certainly had a couple of sci-fi aspects throughout the course of the game e.g. animus DNA technology. But those sci-fi plot elements did not detract from the overall mysterious historical conspiracy theme.

The ending on the other hand really twisted everything inside out as it was far too "out-there" for my liking.

I would have been fine with a "supernatural" (a la Uncharted series) twist.
