I don't really understand why a lot of folks have a problem with a setting in feudal Japan. The Church first made its way to Japan in the early 16th century, and Christianity was very prominent for a while until Tokugawa Ileysy assumed power, and banned the religion (expelling the missionaries, and killing the converts). Now, if AC 3 does take place in Japan, there could be a neat conspiracy story about the Templars attempting to gain power in the East, and perhaps, attempting to retrieve the "Piece of Eden" that belonged to the Tokugawas (hypothetically speaking).

As for Desmond, it's obvious that he already has mixed ancestry (Altair being half Middle Eastern, half Anglo Saxon, and Ezio being Italian), so it's not far off to assume that he may also have some Asian blood in him :lol.

I guess, i like your avatar btw! :gun Um, i think it's more just, the reason i prefer the AC games are their antique renassaince settings, i mean even AC2 couldn't outdo for me, how badass it was to epic swordfights with authentically clad templar and hospitalier knights. It's just something rarely touched, a time rarely done, but done so well in AC. I'm couldn't care about the religious aspects, but mainly the culture. Whereas the asian culture being so different, at the time and even now, would be like playing a completely different game and isn't what appeals to me. If i had my way, i'd want it to go BACK to Altair, the early years or post, him finding the apple. BUT, then i realised, it would have to take away alot of the playability for realism. All the art merchants, shops, different groups etc, is only because of a more modern civilization. Going back would force them out for realism but take away their playability. I had said it before, but the only logical way for them to go is FORWARD, like they seem to be. But this throws us all off, when they said Altair is in the middle of a very long timeline. UNLESS they are counting the whole
Adam and Eve thing as part of it, even though, as yet, unplayable. It would obviously make sense for that to be the beginning of the timeline

Just finished Assassin's Creed 2! Great game, but man, the ending was like a bad episode of Stargate :monkey4. Major WTF moment.

Taking the everything into account is the only way to appreciate the overall story of AC2. This includes all the little hints and historical references in those glyph puzzles as well as 'The Truth' video, as Irish just mentioned.

I hope everything is laid out neatly in AC3. I don't expect the upcoming AC 2.5 (or whatever it's called) to answer a lot of questions.

Thanks! I like my avatar too :rotfl. George Patton was the man! Anyways, I understand what you mean about wanting to see cultural consistency in Assassin's Creed, as far as how the games look and feel, and your points are very strong. But, personally, I wouldn't mind to see some variation.

Remember the world map, that was formed from the codex pages? The Assassin's had (have?) branches throughout the globe, not just in Europe, and that's why I believe that branching the series off into different locations (even completely different locations), will give us better insight into the conspiracies involving the Templars

Unlocked the truth video last night. Even more WTF now!

I believe that Assassin's Weed was developed by basement conspiracy trolls who wear aluminum bowls on their heads, to prevent the government from "reading their thoughts" :lol. Seriously, how did a storyline that began with an Assassin in the Crusades turn into something so far out? I could care less for the storyline.

I love WTF moments, just like The Metal gear Solid saga, and didn`t get to know the truth before MGS4.

Yeah I kind of like WTF moments too. They get you thinking. The whole of the MGS saga was one :lol

The matrix springs to mind as well. That's a real mind boggler!

There's a review of the Battle of Forli DLC up at IGN; they gave it a 7.4 for both consoles. On the plus side, you get some decent action and stealth, and the ability to access the flying machine, but on the negative side, the whole thing only lasts about an hour, and there are no achievements/trophies.

Still, I'll gladly lay down $4 for another hour with this game.

I finally finished the game...can`t wait for AC3 now with all the unanswered questions.I spent too much time collecting money at first so when i finished the game i had over 100 000$ :lol

did you mean 1 000 000? cuz 100 000 is like a 1/3 of what i had, lol
sorry to rain on your parade :lol

Yea I agree with you, couldn't care less for the story.
The story should have been Ezio becoming an Assassin too avenge his family against the Templars, and especially Rodrigo, that Bastardo. None of that crap in between.

SO, anyone got the new DLC levels? how are they?

I got the Battle of Forli DLC and enjoyed it quite a bit. The missions are predominantly combat-based, with a little parkour action thrown in here and there. The whole thing lasted about 90 minutes or so, but then it ends really abruptly. Like, you're chasing your next target out of town and then suddenly you're back in the Animus, and you're being told that the data is corrupted. My guess is that we'll continue from that point when the next DLC comes out later this month.

The only other real extra to mention is that you can now access and fly Leonardo's flying machine whenever you want. It's located at the top of the lighthouse at Forli, and this'll allow you to get the flying kick achievement/trophy if you missed it the first time around.

For $4, it's worth getting if you enjoyed the main game.
