Ubisoft has announced that it's developing an Assassin's Creed comic book mini-series with Eisner Award nominees and Shuster Award-winning illustrators Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl, who between them have drawn for Superman, Catwoman, The Flash and Batman & Robin.
The Assassin's Creed comic book - which appears to be set in communist Russia - will be unveiled during a panel entitled "Assassin's Creed: Behind and Beyond the Brotherhood" to be held on July 22nd, 2010 at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego.
"We always thought that the Assassin’s Creed universe would be perfect for transmedia initiatives like this new comic series," said Mathieu Ferland, transmedia senior producer at Ubisoft Montreal. "We are excited to have the fantastic and acclaimed artists Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl working on the project. Ubisoft is looking forward to showing Assassin’s Creed fans what these talented artists have been up to at next week’s Comic-Con panel."
The Assassin's Creed comic series is part of Ubisoft Montreal's UbiWorkshop initiative that involves expanding the company's IP's into other media.
