Paint apps look great! Hopefully production paint will be just the same! And damn already so far on Edward! Really surprised about that

Nice Pics, Its gonna be great to have them all. Also nice to see the teasers coming through thick and fast!

On the last page you were annoyed at people presuming that the piece will not be up to par with other items we buy. So why would you presume they cost the same?

If a start up company sets the prices of its items at the same price as the big boys they will never compete and get buried because they dont have the track record behind them to justify the price. Ontop of that the piece does look cool but lacking in quality we have come a custom to in certain areas. So its bound to be cheaper than a Hot Toy. I wouldnt be surprised if it was in the $120 area

$120 ? Good luck with that :D

Hot Toys has an established end to end supply chain and processes in place that keep their costs down. Supposedly they own their own factories as well.

Blitzway is a new company and a good example of a recent entry trying to compete with the big boys with no track record. Their 1st figure was Scarface at $180. Their 2nd is Carlito's Way figure at $195.

Big Chief Studios, who hare producing the Doctor Who figures are another example of a new startup trying to compete and have said that start up and manufacturing costs are much higher than people assume. Their figures are priced at $200+

Hopefully the price is closer to $120 then $200 although I wouldn't be surprised at all if its $199.

hot toys trying to keep costs down?! They have added $80 to the costs of their figures for no apparent reason. Then try to cheap out on other aspects to keep costs down for themselves and not the buyer. The blitsway stuff is very niche and not as mass produced so they need to give it a higher cost & big chief im pretty sure is UK based. And being from the UK myself i know that everything here costs a **** ton more than anywhere else in the world for "minimal prices".

Ive been collecting mid-end 1:6 scale clothed characters for a fair time now so maybe $120 was ambitious but i dont think it will be anywhere near $200

Well, if it is $200 they need to fire whoever has been putting these " teaser " pics out. Because theyre arent good enough to tempt $200 from your wallet.

What's up with his neck?

I think that might be someone's thumb holding the head, I'm surprised they're doing Edward and are able to show him off this early hopefully Haytham is being considered.

Edwards design is so kick ***, that I may skip Ezio and just get him.

Hot Toys have definitely inflated prices due to their popularity. But that doesn't account for all the cost increase. The difference in quality has also increased dramatically over the last 3 years.

It has been interesting getting a peak behind the curtain with Big Chief and their updates in the Doctor Who thread.
One of the things they have stated is that people are incorrect with the 'economy of scale argument' in the 1/6 market simply because with the amount of hand manufacturing done, there is little to zero benefit in cost savings per figure from having larger print runs.
Others involved in the industry on that thread confirmed that.

It was also in that thread where there was discussion on difficulty with matching Hot Toys pricing while getting anywhere near the quality level.

So I'm not sure Blitzway being 'more niche' has much to do with it.

Big Chief also do their manufaturing in China even though the company is UK based aso I don't think higher costs in the UK come into play much there?

I'd love to be proved wrong here and would happily have an I told you so post from you :hi5:

I think I'd definitely collect if it was sub $150.
My guess is the Ezo figure will be $180 as an intro and then the AC4 figure (apparently next now...) will be $200

They just put up a pic of Connor. Looks decent. The headsculpts are going to make or break these for me. Right now I have no interest in Edward Kenway. Ezio is in because he is Ezio, and I liked Connor's design from the beginning so I could seemyself getting him. Just really want a hint a the price point we are looking at.
