Cameron improves everything.

Here's a sneak peek at his Cameron-ized "Frozen"...

The Way of Wiggle

Christmas is over, the blizzards are winding down, word of mouth is kicking in and no competition for like three months. Hold on to your butts!
The World Cup ended which opened up the international box office big time.

Had the polar vortex not happened here in the states it would’ve had a bigger opening but that winter came in hard.

Trades are projecting a 1.6 to 1.9 billion total which absolutely keeps the franchise alive.

My man really did it again :thud:

Go Cameron lol

So video games thrive on violence, television series seem to love *** and violence... and the movie business, which is suffering greatly at the hands of both, is cutting movie violence.

Makes sense.

Honestly there's so much gunfire in this movie (not the least of which from the main hero himself) I almost wonder if Cameron is claiming to have cut out a large portion of it in an attempt to pre-empt the narrative that it glorifies gun violence.

I mean there's literally multiple scenes of teenage children running around all excited about stealing and using assault rifles, lol. Kind of surprising considering he was very vocal about deliberately not allowing John Connor to ever a use a firearm way back in 1991.

He did tell Denis Villeneuve that he has a 6 hour cut of this movie that he’s ok as a miniseries :panic:

“We’re not going to make it, people I mean”

“It’s in your nature to destroy yourselves”

I like how Cameron has portrayed guns in his films. He’s being honest about our wariness, horror, fascination, obsession with them.

So I saw this today.

I think it's better than the first one. It's a really nice three hours to spend at the movies. The opening act (more of a prologue than an actual first act) is by far the weakest, but once you get over it the movie settles in nicely, and as long as you just sit back and enjoy without using too much of your brain, it's a great ride.
The 3D and CGI are simply amazing and the story is serviceable and works. The music is a bit of a letdown, though. You have these amazing visuals and the score is very pedestrian, there's absolutely no awe or wonder in it.
There's a lot of missed opportunities plot-wise and character-wise that could have made this movie amazing, but it's clearly not Cameron's forte to tell deep and rich stories.

I doubt I'll ever take the time to see this again, but I enjoyed my three hours in Pandora and, most likely than not, will go back to watch the ongoing adventures of the Sully Family.
