I don't see digital film being too soft or sharp, it has good detail, along with not having as much film grain or jittering. Plus for filmmakers, if you ever want to check a previously filmed shot you can easily do that. Plus you can very quickly get footage into the editing room and FX guys.

And 24p is a terrible standard. I hope Cameron's plan to shoot in 48 or 60 goes through. It'll mean more work, but it's worth it.

60i or 60p looks hidous. It doesn't at all look like a movie. It's too fast. Too smooth. Too "real".

I like my movies to look like movies. No one else should ever change it.

Which is why I loath Michael Mann. He's style now is very high school level looking. If you want to make a documatary film, then use those settings.

yeah, I don't really see 3d being a lasting thing. it's fun and all...but it is going to go in and out of style.
