$150 millon opening weekend- if that is possible..is that the record?
It shouldn't, but it never ceases to amaze me just HOW negative people have become today and it's not just movies.
1 Marvel's The Avengers $207,438,708
2 Iron Man 3 $174,144,585
3 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 $169,189,427
4 The Dark Knight Rises $160,887,295
5 The Dark Knight $158,411,483
6 The Hunger Games: Catching Fire $158,074,286
7 The Hunger Games $152,535,747
8 Spider-Man 3 $151,116,516
9 The Twilight Saga: New Moon $142,839,137
10 The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 $141,067,634
Sometimes it's like producers meeting here...
Nope, studio boss here.
If AOU is a great film..(I'm hoping it will be even better an Avengers).. it may head toward an all time record- I can see $700 million plus to top Titanic
I'm a huge Marvel fan, way bigger fan than Star Wars, but I still think ep7 will beat AOU on opening weekend numbers, but AOU will beat it in Overall box office
There's probably an internal memo at Marvel/Disney. AoU - $2 Billion or Bust.
Yeah, I believe it is. Expectations are usually unrealistic. $2B is tough, but $1.75B is very possible.
If AoU makes less than the first one, at least one person's job will be on the line.
I could see Joss Whedon's meeting with Marvel going something like this
