Is there anything worth watching in the theater after this for this summer besides ant man

I know, right?! :lol

Guess they moved on. You know? From the whole family being murdered thing. Almost losing an infinity stone to the person that murdered a mother. Loved ones being turned into combustible mega powered freaks on fire. Presidential kidnappings. Home destruction.

But hey let's part and lift my hammer cause I'm awesome!

They couldn't brood over those events. If they did, it would be a DC movie. :D

So Tony had a lot more trouble with an Extremis-powered Killian than he did Ultron Prime....

The events in IM3 didn't happen. It was all a dream induced when Tony was under anesthesia while having the shrapnel removed from his chest. :D

Why are people so bothered by Killian putting up a fight against Iron Man, he could regrow limbs, instantly repair himself, burn through the armor, it's almost like fighting Hulk.

Iron Man 3 was really under-rated among geeks, and Winter Soldier was really over-rated. . .both were good, but Winter Soldier was still a better movie IMO.

I remember people being pissed that an armor self destructing around Killian was stupid since he survived that but not a rocket blown up by Pepper like....well....he was still healing when she did that so that's how I always made sense of that. People with Extremis were a completely different enemy that Tony's never faced before. Not extreme heat like that. Thor's Lightning is totally different too.

I really like it, I don't understand the dislike for it

I like it more than TWS personally.

If it weren't for your username or the fact you're a mod, then I'd swear you must be trollin' . . .

Wasn't this because they thought he was going to make it out of vibranium that he stole?
Question... Why did the Avengers think that Ultron getting his own body would make him unstoppable?? They did not know about the infinity stone yet...

I also think I figured out why the action was meh to me.. They were fighting drones.. Unfeeling, lifeless drones.. Could have been a bunch of killer toaster and the impact would have been the same.. I know it's not the fault of the movie.. If you are going to have Ultron you need the drones so I am not faulting the film... One could say that the Aliens in the first film were the same idea.. It's true.. They are both just fodder for the Avengers.. But you know those Aliens are feeling the punches and kicks and slams.. Thus the action has more impact.

I always hate Robots in the Superhero genre.. Cartoons, video games, movies it does not matter.. They make for a boring enemy most of the time.. Ultron is cool because there was personality and is a bit more of a there but the drones are boring because they are as ineffective as the Aliens but felt no pain and had no reaction to the damage received.

The Avengers knew that Ultron was chasing his own evolution into something greater/stronger. The idea that he was designing his own body to his own specifications led them to believe that if he were to succeed, he may be unstoppable.

If I remember right, the Avengers weren't sure at all if that were going to be the case. However, they knew that they couldn't risk allowing Ultron to succeed in creating his own body.

What moments were that great in TWS? The fight with Cap and the one guy on the boat at the beginning and the fight in the elevator are the only real stand out moments I think of.

Fury car chase scene.... One of the best action scenes ever... The whole thing...
Cap fight scene in the Elevator
Cap Running through walls to keep up with WS
Cap Knife fight with WS
BW swinging off the bridge into a full sprint when she hits the ground with the car blowing up behind her
WS kicking butt on the air field kicking the guy thought the fan of the plane
WS was just pretty awesome all the time
Cap taking out Shield plane then landing to the ground with his shield in full Superhero action pose
There are lots of great small moments and humor all which work better then AOU IMO

Damn if this movie isn't deeply layered.

come on now.....

He got taken out by Potts... Just silly really...

He should have beat Stark anyways by blowing fire in his face... Blowing fire.. I still laugh every time I watch that.

IM3 is just not a good film IMO... I don't care about remote robots saving the day.. I want to see Stark in the suit saving the day...

WS is helped by having some great action scenes.. Some of the best in any Superhero film... I am not even a huge Cap fan but that film made me a huge fan of his theatrical version... Great villain also... Things that IM3 lacked.

Your comment is valid, and indicative of the criticisms against IM3 (remote suits, weak suits, and fake Mandarin being major ones). But they all stem around expectations not being met about how a super hero movie is supposed to play out. I think that if you can accept those things as just part of the story being told, you might find that the movie isn't so bad. Or, maybe you'll still hate it! But I was able to enjoy it for what it was, rather than what I was expecting it to be.

I'm the same way with robots, hence me not enjoying IM3.

But this time all the drones were Ultron himself.

I really believe in my heart that the "directors" cut will address most of your concerns.

I'm going way out on that guess. :lol

I took it as more of a Hive mentality... Ultorn controlled them but was not all of them... If he was he should have done more to make up think it was him being defeated time and again.. Even SW asked if he wanted to know what it was like to die... Hell if he was always all of them at once then he knows what it's like to die a 1000x over... I just looked at it like he consciousness could take over any the drones at a moments notice but that they were all hard wired to his bidding.

That entire movie stands out for me as awesome, same as AOU.

These are the major powerhouses we're talking about.

JAWS is just being stubborn, he'll come around by his 5th viewing (probably not). :lol

Not unless the Extended cut makes the film better... This one will always be just an average Marvel film to me.. Not bad but far from great. :( :( :(

Movie was fun. For my money, Guardians of the Galaxy was Marvel's best summer movie to date. That one was funny, had heart and had great action, but never over-the-top. This one tried really hard, but it was just too bloated. It was good, not great. One viewing was more than enough for me

I tried to look at it that was with a second viewing.. I still could not get into it.. The villain (killian) was just not interesting to me... Nor his plot.. I did not care for the Sit com type humor that infected much of the film also... The film tried to be too cleaver and too cute for it's own good and it backfired in many ways.. Not just expectations being not met..

Just not my type of film..

Well maybe it's because you were EXPECTING Iron Man 3 to be your type of film. If you watch it as specifically being NOT for you, then maybe you'll enjoy it. :monkey3

Well you have to consider who was behind it. This was Shane Black, teaming with RDJ for the first time since Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. It was never going to be a straight-up, traditional action movie. And you weren't going to get rid of humor any sooner than you would find a Whedon film with no humor (even Alien: Resurrection had unintentional humor).
