It's been a couple weeks since I've been to the theater now. I think I'm due for one final viewing of AoU and then one more Fury Road as well.
I thought I was done at 5 viewings but I definitely want to see it again ... September is a long wait for it to come out on video ha

I finally got around to seeing this the other night. I liked it more then the first Avengers in some ways. It was a good popcorn flick. I wasn't a big fan of some of Ultron's lines... I cringed at a couple of his lines. The whole thing between Hulk and Widow wasn't worth its salt. Loved seeing the Hulkbuster. That was pretty badass. Hawkeye was far better this time around. Vision was fricken unreal. I can't wait to see more of him. One of the highlights for me. All in all, an improvement over the first one for me.

Caught this a rare 4th time on the big screen today. I wondered if my enjoyment would be diminished after watching Fury Road twice. Not at all. These movies aren't "either/or" for me.

I freaking *love* this movie. I'm right with you jye. Normally with a 3rd or 4th viewing of a film I'll really get the ebb and flow of the excitement/entertainment and start to anticipate the parts that I kind of just want to end so that I can enjoy the good stuff but honestly this movie really doesn't have a lull for me. I find it solid all the way through. It's all entertaining, it all works. The action, the script, the pacing, the key dramatic moments give me goosebumps, the battles have me smiling like a kid, the chemistry of all the actors with one another, everything.

That's not to say that it's the greatest movie ever or anything but it is consistently entertaining from beginning to end for me.

Still noticing little things too. First time I caught that the drone driving the truck in South Korea flew through the windshield and got run over when it crashed. I also finally caught that the Iron Legion drone that is about to kill Dr. Cho actually powers down a split second before Cap takes it out, which of course plays into Ultron's later comments about being able to kill her but choosing not to.

I think it's funny how Thor and Cap seemingly just can't handle the "stuffiness" of mortal life in America. Thor is all, "Legos, little kids, AND toast? **** this, I draw the line at toast, I'm outta here." :lol

It just seems to have the right amount of everything. The safe house doesn't drag, the action doesn't induce fatigue, just good stuff all around.

That seems to be a big thing around here. Taking shots at 1 movie that has nothing to do with another movie.
I mean, Xanadu was by no means as good as Altered States. :lol

Whew, I was worried that Wor-Gar had corrupted you. :lol

Toast, i'm outta here. :lol

Yes and quite frankly I'm over it. As a kid I got to see Darth Vader step through the blasted doorway of the Blockade Runner during Star Wars' first theatrical run, got to experience Hans Gruber, the Terminator, Clarence Boddicker, Hannibal Lecter, bla bla bla and you know what? I thought Ultron was great. Would he have been awesome in Die Hard? No. Well maybe. Probably would have sliced Holly's arm off for calling him a common thief but still, he was no Hans Gruber. Duh. But he was awesome in AoU and that's really all that matters.

Well.... Ultron is all chromey and shiny, isn't he? Witness!!!!

And he did live, die, and live again several times throughout. Hmm, I wonder if Vision carried the last drone to the Halls of Valhalla.

I never understood why Hans Gruber was so "good". He was nothing more than a common thief and there was nothing special, unique, or ground breaking about him. He's one of the most overrated villains ever. Even though I thought Ultron was disappointing, I wouldn't say Gruber is a better villain, but that's just me.

Well I think the biggest thing to consider with Gruber is that he never really made a mistake. That's one of several things that made him really special. He wasn't done in by doing something contrived, stupid, or inconsistent with his character. He had a perfect plan, could not have predicted a loose cannon like John McClane being a part of it, and successfully improvised against everything John did right up to the end. There's no way Hans could have anticipated the duct tape gun, and even after that, *still* almost blew away either John or Holly before they got her bracelet off.

He oozed charisma and class and by his own shockingly consistent competence made McClane one of the great action heroes of cinema.

I strongly recommend that you give Die Hard, and Gruber, another chance.

I like the film and I think he's ok. Ironically, I prefer his little brother in part 3 :lol

I loved the moment when the half legion drone was about to blast Cho and then Ultron Mark I seeing her through the drone goes, "Hm."

Also good point about Cap and Thor at the farm ... I have a friend who thought that Thor leaving made no sense but he clearly doesn't have time for this mortal stuff ...though I did hope he would go off-world.

Awesome movie with a ton of great moments. Can't wait to see it again.

I was in the theater, mouth agape, when Star Wars came out. :clap

No one under 30 should be allowed to watch an 80s movie and then comment on it. :lol Dumb cell phone babies. :rotfl

But that's not necessarily what I was saying. It was more contemporary in nature. About how spiteful and jaded so many are now.

When AOU came out the people who bagged on it were elated, ecstatic, euphoric, when Mad Furiosa came out, and felt it was reasonable to weigh one against the other.

I got to thinking ... and I can't help but consider Ultron the audience's subconscious when he began blasting away at Widow and Hulk during her attempted lullaby near the end - effectively ending their relationship.
