Ultron never felt threatening and neither did the Ultron bots. Loki felt more of a threat in avengers 1. out of all the Marvel movies Ultron was one of the least threatening. I think even Red Skull felt more scary.

It sucks because Ultron is cool and his voice is cool and everything but there was never a moment in the movie where I felt like "holy s these people are in danger"

Even in Guardians of the Galaxy I felt more danger from the bald girl and Ronan.

I knew the bad guys from the Thor movies were going to be defeated but even they felt more threatening. Ultron feels like he could be a goon for a bigger villain. Like the errand boy in a sense.

I think I hate this the most because the trailers made it seem like Ultron was going to be this devastating force on the Avengers and he spends most of the movie looking for the metal and then trying to upload himself.
He didn't even try to destroy anything for most of the movie. the Hulk Fight was not even because of him, he didn't even have anything to do with that.

I thought he was a little scary when
he took that guy's arm off without even noticing it
I was not expecting that in a Disney film.

okay, yes that time,

I wish he was like that the whole movie, I wish everyone was afraid of him. they act like they are but it doesn't even feel genuine. Scarlet Witch was the one that made everyone freak out after that part. Even Bruce, Scarlet was MORE scary than Ultron in some parts.

Ultron felt like a misundertood emo guy :lol:lol moping about the destruction of the world lol

Yeah, he/it was a friendly robot :lol Considering how big he was, he/it should have been more intimidating.

It was still very childlike .... he seemed pretty apologetic afterward

Yeah, and that's when it stopped being scary, but initially it was a bit scary because here's this machine who seems to be very human, but he doesn't know his own strength, plus it showed how fragile humans are compared to Ultron. He had a dark sense of humor.

Some of this is very valid.

But damn was the movie bad ass. :lol

His personality made up for his lack of intimidation.

Even though people didnt think ultron was that menaching the dude was still cool and fun. I was so impressed by his CGi when he talked to the twins his expressions looked so great.
Quicksilver was so much better then I thought he'd be to

For me, if you forget what certain aspects could have been and let yourself enjoy what is, it's an awesome movie.

I was thinking about Hulk's involvement earlier, and sure it could be more based on past films, but I think it's fitting for what the story was. AOU is about the Avengers as a team, working together, and how they could ever be totally driven apart. This movie says Hulk is part of the team, but he's uncontrollable, which I like, as neat at the "Hulks smash" moment was in Avengers, it felt a little too opposite of Hulk earlier in that movie, he goes from out of control to being able to almost hold a conversation with him. AOU Hulk is more the beast running wild, in the opening battle he's destroying stuff but he's not in formation or part of a plan, they just unload him on whoever's around and not his friends. The end battle, same thing, he's not part of the team, he's only even in the fight because Widow wanted him but once he gets there, he's just off running amok, the film's focus is on the team working together. They're establishing that Hulk doesn't quite fit, and it sets up story for Banner to work on further control of the Hulk, right now it's still a lot like in TIH, he can't control it but he can aim it.
