Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

It's funny the opposite is happening on the video game field.
Injustice 2 is awesome and MvsCI is nasty vomit.

I still rock the original Injustice game on iPhone. Almost 5 years.....

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I know it can't be helped but I wish the hype train for this would slow down. Everyone is going to start imagining a movie that nothing can live up to. Honestly, how can this end up being anything else but a superhero version of It's A Mad, Mad, Mad World? And that's best case scenario. That movie didn't even have the bloated cast that this thing does. Do you all realize how many characters have to be serviced in this movie? How many 1st tier characters that demand a lot of screen time by themselves? This beast has at least three times the cast size of the Avengers 1st movie to deal with. I feel like Civil War was pushing things about as far as they should go and now there is no way most people will be happy with whatever character development the makers can eke out in the time they have. God, I hope I'm wrong. I should point out that I hate the hell out of crossovers in the comics, so this is probably that ramblings of a old, jaded geek.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I got the back row seats as usual

Best seats in the theater imo. Back row center every time for us.

How is it a swan song when (seriously spoilery)

images were leaked of Cap and IM on set for IW2?

I think Bucky explodes out of the woods (scene from first trailer) and starts emptying that 100 round clip into Thanos who is a big fat purple target, which lets Cap get away and buys enough time for BP and Hulk to show up and Thanos is driven back temporarily w. combined efforts of all.

Since there IS an IW2.

I'm not complaining if he lives, Caps one of my favorites.:lol I haven't been following all the behind the scenes stuff or thinking ahead to Pt 2.
I'm attempting to remain relatively spoiler-free on this.:lol

Pretty much. If Disney really wants this movie to acquire cult like status they have to put on the big boy pants and kill Iron Man on this one. There I said it.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

Had to freeze frame and dissect this a little. Some interesting stuff

One thing that I'm a little disappointed in is the gold trim on the Iron Spider suit. I know it's been that way on toys, but it always appeared silver to me in Homecoming, so I was hoping the toys got it wrong

I'm not one to go too crazy about how overpowered MCU Cap is, but him doing to Thanos's hand what Thanos is doing to Thor's head... is pretty funny

I've bit the 3D bullet a few time for just the coin and it's not worth it. I'd bite it again if there were better giveaways.

I'm sure I'll get the Fandango poster. Usually they're worth the $6.95

Not familiar with all the Black Order's names but looks like one of them might have a "gun" on him. This is probably leading up to the part in the 1st trailer where we see him handing over the Tesseract

Proxima Midnight has her glaive aimed at loki, so its hostility not friendship in that shot, makes it more badass

I guess BvS has "cult" status. They killed Superman in it. And a paralyzed guy climbs a statue and explodes. Hm.

I think Disney would rather have "mega-successful, audiences liked it" status.

No ****s to give about what you think Disney rather have or earns with this, mate. :lol

I'm talking from the perspective of good storytelling where even Frozen or Wall-E (Disney's other "mega succesful" films) have better character development and plot than the whole MCU. What better way to retire a main character than having him killed by the most powerful villain ever? :dunno

Audiences would love it and it might even reach TDK levels of worldwide acclaim. Otherwise this "event" is just another monster of the week.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

Just noticed what sounded like Dinklage saying "the end is near". Thor certainly seems to be the wild card in ending Thanos' path of destruction.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I hope it ends with Thanes tying up the whole team with the narrator say tune in next year same bat time, same bat station

Hear yah tho I AM hyped - but - disagree that all the characters need to be serviced in the movie. IMO question of balance of screen time. And the Russos had already said more than once that there's no way you are going to do deep dives with that many characters. You pick the main arcs and weave in other characters.

And why should they? Guardians, Thor, Spiderman, BP, DS have all had their own films. But there's been little of Thanos; Team Cap etc. has been off the grid. And then there'll be cameos.

What's great IMO is that the Russos can balance a story that seems to be coming together from multiple places and pulling all together - and they have the talent to do that. Anyone expecting this to turn into a Spiderman or Thor or Guardians movie isn't bothering to read anything re the actors already saying they weren't taking up a lot of screen time - even if the trailer looks like everything is equal time.

You can keep your ****s. No gracias. :lol

You said "cult status." I didn't know you were talking about Frozen.

One could argue the "heroic sacrifice" is the most hackneyed way to retire a hero.

I mean...there's been a lot of character development and plot over the MCU. Come on... :lol

It would reach TDK levels....which didn't kill off it's recurring hero against a huge villain.

Exactly.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

The Avengers are supposed to be facing the biggest threat yet so killing him makes sense, otherwise it's just another movie with invincible boring heroes. :dunno

Why should people watch another MCU film after this when they know there are no stakes involved? is the status quo that sacred for comic book fans? No point in watching the same thing over and over and over, RDJ isn't going to be there forever, time to move on and see something new.
