Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

Got rid of hell?

“who the hell are you guys?” to “who are you guys?”

Either family audience or the word hell doesn't make sense for Thor to use or edited by poster. At least he acts more like someone who got their *ss kicked coughing etc. Russos work to tell reasonable story w. some logic e.g. if B happens then what event A caused it, each character has arc large or small.

Still wish they hadn't been thrilled about using Thor no offense Thor fans. Anyway I THOUGHT we'd see Hawkeye's family taken or something in this one so he goes postal or whatever but sounds like he's not in the film at all.:dunno

That seems chopped, I believe it aired with an award show so I’m sure it was edited, my experience with movie clips released is that they’re never 100% straight out of the movie.

Regret that sometimes. Like trailer moments that get cut e.g. Loki dual knives or Aquaman w. waves coming up around him. May just be a few seconds but can't understand why directors do that.

Why would Hawkeye's family be taken? And what would he accomplish by going postal? His only threat would be making himself a suicide bomber. He is pretty useless against Thanos or any of the Black Order. I don't think Thanos is interested in the bow & arrow guy, or he's even on his radar.

It makes sense to use Thor. He is pretty much the most powerful & biggest threat out of any of the Avengers to Thanos, and he is more a cosmic character than an earth character. Dr. Strange, Scarlet Witch & of course Vision as well who is the primary target of course. Most of the other guys are barely on his radar. Even Iron Man & Hulk. No matter how advanced his armor is, that's all it is. And Stark is no match for Thanos when it comes to tech. Hulk would just be the annoying fly that won't go away. All he is is brute strength and rage. He'd only be a threat as smart Hulk, meaning Banner was in control. The most insignificant of all is Widow and Hawkeye.

Oh, and i'm a big Thor fan!!!  ( :lol )

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

According to youtube comments it was aired during a Nickelodeon awards show which might be why it was edited. The clip is pretty funny to me, I'm probably looking forward to all the moments of interaction between the Avengers and the Guardians more than anything else in the movie lol

Ok that makes sense.

I like it better with Hell lol

Well I don’t know how much say directors have in the cut of trailers and clips, but it does stink when something cool is shown only to be cut from the movie or a better take. Attack of the Clones ads had a much better cut of dialogue from Obi-Wan when he and Anakin at electrocuted, the version in the movie comes out horrible.

Nothing beats the KOTCS “Part Time” line delivery change from Harrison Ford from trailer to movie.

But yeah directors have ZERO say on the trailers unless you’re Cameron or Spielberg.

Re Hawkeye's family it's a nicer fate for the kiddies than just being obliterated by Thanos' minions *in theory*. We know Thanos takes kids. It's not whether the family or anyone else's is on Thanos radar, it's whether his minions would pick up future *prisoners with jobs* during an invasion. Which IMO could cause Hawkeye to become:

I dunno if anyone mortal is useless against the Black Order. I figure the Black Order isn't un-killable - more like Nebula or Gamora, depending. Enhanced but not immortal.

Good points tho I'd argue re Thor/Hulk e.g. Odin said re the films Asgardians aren't gods. Re Thanos I wonder if actually the biggest threat to Thanos is Scarlet Witch who was just coming into her powers:dunno. Hulk doesn't seem to be killable, at all:dunno. And I wonder if Peter Quill *really* lost all his celestial-ness godhood when Ego blew up or why there wouldn't be some godly residue in him:dunno.

And I like Thor just fine. Got the Roadworn Thor and Ragnarok BR and all. But he's not a fav and feel like I just saw plenty of him; I'm a lot more interested in earthbound Team Cap and the disenfranchised fugitives. I don't need another big dose of Guardians or Spidey either.
Waited a long time to pick up on stuff after CW and for me I expected 15 minutes or so in BP of some tie-ins, so that was a let down for me:(.

So just the tiniest bit less enthused re IW than I was re screen time so far. Not that I just didn't check my IW fan event tickets again or anything:monkey3. Not that I don't want that friggin' sold out hat and am trying to avoid the calender as days to IW tick off slooowwwwly....not that I don't wish I could get my hands on that theater standee.

That would make sense if this was a TV series, as they'd have lots of filler to use for multiple episodes. But remember, Thanos is only here for the Infinity Stones. He's not here to conquer and enslave the planet. He could care less about Earth. There are many worlds he could choose to enslave that most likely have much more intelligent, physically stronger and subservient populations. Nothing special about us earthlings, accept for the selected few.

I was mainly referring to the Avenger's, Earths heroes. Not the GOTG. But yeah, didn't like the whole Ego is a celestial and so is Peter stuff in vol.2, but interesting none the less. But once he has all the stones, no force in the Marvel universe, the comics or the MCU, could physically opose/stop him. He is essentially a God.

Yeah, those are gonna be the most emotional scenes, seeing Earth's heroes like Cap, Spidey, and the gang trying to take on Thanos and his minions/army. No matter how good or bad the story is, is gonna be incredible just seeing all these characters on screen together. Now this is Cinematic history in the making.. :)

True re the TV series and also - I get *uneasy* when kids are introduced, depending:horror. Depending. Too often stuff gets put in that's over-designed to get an emotional response and falls flat - can be anything, but if the Russos had been in charge of Ultron I don't think we would have had a farmhouse scene with family (anyway to this day it makes no sense to me that a skilled operative would EVER put their family at risk by using their home as a safehouse:cuckoo:)....

For sure IMO that was one of the parts of the new trailer - the way Gamora talks about Thanos and snaps her fingers - well done. At least for me it brought home what Thanos could really do (emotional response - OMG). A small moment but IMO the Russos excel at those quiet moments.

Yeah, for all the "fan-wants" LOL it's wild being around for a global film event like this:). I already think as a story it's gonna be great because of the Russos and their habit of closing themselves into a room with the writers and just working the STORY. Characters, motives, arcs. Think that grass-roots approach is what will make this a success along with the Russos ability to pace a film (as well as a stellar cast). They're my favorite MCU directors anyway tho I am impressed with what some of the others have done including Waititi - IMO underneath the fun, Ragnarok is a well-made film with attention to details like Sakaar and some great moments and cast chemistry:duff

I don't know. When he was turned into a bad guy in Avengers, with a single bow he almost took down their big flying aircraft carrier and gave us Iron Man and Captain American repairing it for 25 minutes of screen time. Zzzzzzzz

Ok Joss, we get it. Tony Stark fixes things and Steve Rogers can only pick things up and put them down. :monkey4

Sure, he's effective against things that he can shoot his arrows at and they go boom. Plus, there are shield agents on the hellicarrier that needed to be protected/saved, and all the people below that would be killed if the hellicarrier crashed. He didn't fight anyone, he just created a diversion that would occupy their attention and efforts. Just like Loki tricking everyone and having Banner release the Hulk. They were fighting themselves.

Thanos on the other hand could care less about his lackey's/cronies. They're job is to keep the flies off his back so he can achieve his objective without unnecessary distractions. The Black Order are his lieutenants, pretty much capable of defeating everyone on their own. If Stark's latest armor has no physical effect on Thanos, what are shooting arrows at him gonna do? And what happens when he runs out of arrows? It would be like my son shooting me with his Nerf guns.

The scene in Wakanda are all the heroes fighting Thanos' army, not Thanos himself. Can't wait to see big boy Stark get the beating of his life.

Is it wrong I'm mostly looking forward to Thanos and more excited to see him just dominate over everyone? :lol

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

I really they had teased the black order more or had cameos in the other movies.

The thanos cameos bow seem dumb and kinda ridiculous when u really dont know anything about him.

Thanos has been handled wrong, he was barely a mute in GOTG, Avengers and finally took action until Age of ultron, but seriously i agree, the Black order, i cannot lie how obsessed i am with them and getting their toys, i love lego but damn i want more marvel legends figs, seriously if Hot Toys was balsy enough to make them, insta buy.

Thanks guys went back to the Disney store and bought two more, already sold one for 100 bucks, i’m not greedy but still, got to capitalize on the IW hype.
