Clearly you need to rewatch Fury Road.

Yeah I'm definitely due to watch FR again.

In other news I recently watched Logan again for the first time since seeing it once in the theater. I absolutely *loved* it. I was braced for the kids running in the forest and "death by grass" scene this time and for whatever reason neither bothered me much and certainly didn't negate the rest of the film. From a strictly filmmaking perspective I might rank Logan #2 among all cbm's after BB and ahead of TDK.

You didn’t like Logan the first time or just certain aspects of it? Where did you rank it before?

:duff And cheers to BB being at the top of the superhero genre, where it belongs. Though I’d still put TDK at #2.

I did actually really like it the first time but came away feeling like they tried too hard to be super R-rated and that the entire finale in the forest was just silly. I also felt like Logan's death should have been more poignant than it was as it left me a little flat. But I definitely recognized the great acting from the entire cast that far exceeded most other cbm's.

This time the violence and language didn't come off as forced and with tempered expectations I wasn't put off by the ending. I still wish that they didn't show Laura taking out the adamantium bullet so that we as the audience could have done the math that she had it when she blew X-24 away but I really loved that they resisted any over the top heroics and melodrama at the end. Just some quick and dirty kills on both sides, no long speeches, just like real life (so to speak.) Just a great and incredibly unique film (for this genre.)

But yeah I still hold Batman Begins up as the pinnacle of filmmaking craft when it comes to cbm's. It doesn't have Heath Ledger but still is the more elegant and satisfying narrative compared to TDK IMO.

I would watch TLJ any day over FR.

Hell I would even watch Beyond Thunderdome over FR. lol

FR has the most lame villain in the franchise.

Hey look at me sitting on a hillside for 15 minutes doing nothing.

Really George Miller.

No Hamill no Luke.

No Gibson no Mad Max.

That was the feral kid anyways.

Oh man Gibson is the perfect age for old man Max.

Well 3rd act of BB is notoriously famous for being weaker than the first 2 acts so in a ways it matches Logan in that regard.

TDK doesn’t have a weak act per se but remove Joker and it gets boring real quick PLUS it avoids showing any violence PLUS BB has the better batmobile action scene PLUS Dent’s turn is rather dubiously handled so I can see why Khev prefers BB over TDK.

TDK has a superb last 4 minutes but honestly who really talks like that (Gordon’ speech) lol

Logan wins hand down when it comes down to violence.

Rambo 4 has Logan beat though in the violence dept ha ha Wolverine.

So.... you only judge movies based on their action sequences? :rotfl

Acting goes to the bat trilogy.
Writing, bat trilogy.
Cinematography, bat trilogy.
Use of CGI, bat trilogy (watch that grass scene 10 years from now and see how good it looks).
Action/ Sure Logan has more violence but more of something doesn't mean it's better.... the stakes in the bat trilogy are much higher making the action sequences that much better, bat trilogy takes it in my opinion.

What stakes were in TDK, the soul of Gotham based off commuters on a boat vs criminals?

I prefer Wolverine’s personal journey.

Regarding action YES it’s very important for me in a superhero action movie so sue me.

Nolan knows how to create exciting hand to hand action scenes about as much as Coogler does.

Doesn't know the stakes of TDK, doesn't like pirates, doesn't like Fury Road, does like New Star Wars. :rolleyes2

I think I'll just stop here.... like the user Riddick stated, you've lost your credibility. :rotfl

You do realize that there have been about 50 million posts since 2008 breaking down every nuance in TDK you’re not the first to have figured out the “heavy stakes” from TDK.

Oh look Joker was not able to make Batman or Gotham as evil as he is but he succeeded with Dent and Batman and Gordon covered it up.

Wow that’s some crazy PhD level of sophisticated writing isn’t it lol

I’ll gladly take my lack of credibility credentials and flaunt them very proudly thank you very much.

Good day kind sir lol

Oh and yes just like TLJ is no ESB, Fury Road is no Road Warrior.

Didn’t I just say I liked Pirates 1 lol

Screw it now I hate Pirates 1 just to be a ****. :lol

Oh god -- Jye's having one of his anti-this meltdowns again.

Sorry everyone, "Fury Road" is a huge trigger for Jye. His doctors and I have spoken to him about it. Were working on a solution.
