Oh man.... Pirates 1.

Because its the BEST Pirates. Fury Road is not the BEST Mad Max. Road Warrior is. But FR is a close 2nd.

Had you said DMC I might have said FR... because FR is a better movie than DMC, even though I much prefer Davy Jones to Immortan Joe.

Immortan had a cool look and voice.

Ultimately he ended up being a poor man’s version of Thulsa Doom though.

Smart choice by the way Chakor grants you life.

You know I used to think that Thulsa Doom was low energy fake news.

I’ve come around on the murdering bastard.

Immortan was upset when he ran over the preggo.

Thulsa was more than happy to decapitate mothers who were holding their kids hand or have white chicks suicide jump for him just to prove a point lol

Thulsa’s henchmen > Immortan’s henchmen

Plus it’s freaking Vader.

I was part of the problem I went to see Avatar 5 times :lol

Maybe more

I liked the spectacle of Avatar, but never really found the story all that extraordinary. I found subsequent rewatches rather boring if I'm honest. :D

Well 3rd act of BB is notoriously famous for being weaker than the first 2 acts so in a ways it matches Logan in that regard.

I hold BB and TDK as the best Batman movies and two of the best CBMs in general, but yeah the third act of BB was pretty bad. Jarringly bad in my opinion. It's a good thing the first 2/3 of the film was really good.

One thing I really hate about MCU is how they don't bother explaining how Earth people can understand aliens and why aliens speak English.
GotG pointed out that Quill has implanted translator, and Gunn confirmed that all Guardians actually speak different languages, which is cool.
But then you have Agents of Shield speakin' to Kree and other aliens without issues or any explanation...
And now Guardians, Thanos and Black Order understanding and speaking English in AIW.

I think you answered your own question... the aliens have their own translators, and humans are hearing them through those translators (like Star Trek).

In AoS, they do not understand the aliens when said aliens are not speaking in English (which is a lot of times in that show).

Here’s the thing i’m a tech junkie so Avatar at the time was heroin and cocaine to me lol

But yeah the movie itself is pretty weak.

Regarding BB I wouldn’t necessarily call the 3rd act “bad” it’s just that the battle to save the narrows was clunky and quickly escalated into silly exposition by that guy at the control tower lol

Just warning you that parts 3 and 4 are pretty boring is all.

CW-level boring to be specific. :monkey3

:lol :lol :lol

My pirates ranking:

CotBP > DMC > DMTNT > OST > AWE

And there’s a huge drop after dmc, and again after dmtnt, and ost and awe are not too far off from each other.

I guess what would be more telling is that I’d never watch anything outside of the first 2 again.

So from a certain point of view i’m also right as in from my point of view lol

:lol :lol

I’ll allow it...

Why 5? Wasn't 5 the really bad last one?

According to "critics" who work for an advertising website that has never been credible in all the years they've been in business, yes. In the end it's up to you to make up your own mind, but Rotten Tomatoes are the same people who laughably have a pile of garbage like Iron Man 2 at a 73% critic approval rating. :lol

Just look at the power of Disney on full display they won’t let Solo drop below 70% it ain’t happening. :lol

Solo is FRESH lol

The approval ratings for the last three SW films alone are proof RT have no credibility. If those movies didn't have the SW logo on them they'd all be in the 30's.

Ok so 1-2-5 seems to be the accepted order.

My first problem with the series is that I can never remember their damn titles.

I have never payed attention or looked up the RT scores for the Pirate franchise, WOW really bad!

Jeez the first one is the highest at 79.

The others yikes.

Mine:

CotBP > DMC > DMTNT > AWE > OST

OST is essentially unwatchable to me.

I think I’d have to agree that OST is the objectively worse film, but I think I hate AWE more for all the great lead-ins and potential from DMC that it squandered (and not just a little, but in the worst ways possible)

The part I found bad was the Microwave Emitter, or whatever they called it back in that film. They spent a lot of time grounding Batman and everyone else into reality, then they come up with such an absurd machine. Like, why is it only affecting the city's water pipes? If it really targeted water, then everyone around it should have also been cooked. :D

Yeah actually, I found 5 bad lol. All this time, Sparrow seemed to me like someone who had a plan. In 5, he just looked like a bumbling drunk who relied totally on luck to stay alive.

I've brought it up before (on the BvS thread I think) that Rotten Tomatoes ratings are also misleading. 73% in RT for example does not mean it's 73/100% good. It's that 73% of the critics surveyed give a film a 6/10 or higher. So in theory, if all critics gave a film a mediocre score of 6/10 (average), then it would get a 100% RT score. :D

That said, I also did not like TFA much, but I did enjoy TLJ. I'm also one of the few that liked IM2 and hated IM3. :D
