I had heard it wasn’t because he was scared, even though it seemed like that way to me, but because he was tired of Banner, and everyone else, only calling on him when they needed something smashed. It was touched upon in Ragnorok when he told Thor “you only like Banner”. That’s why he stayed hulk for so long on that planet because he was loved and essentially worshipped for being Hulk.

Not sure the source but maybe one of the directors?

You're pretty much dead-on. Listen to the first 1:25 of this video to hear the Russos discuss this very topic.

I didn't realize IW is still yet to open in other territories. I was starting to think it may not hit 2B since JW is incoming. Good to hear it still has hope hitting that magic mark. :)

Well 2 billion is now a guarantee with only 35 million to go and it still has to open in Japan end of June.

But will it beat TFA.

I say probably.

From what I see on the internet, Infinity War has already been released in Japan. It played there on opening weekend (April 27th).

Yeah that’s odd because box office mojo current editorial mentions Japan opening end of June yet there are numbers posted for 4/27 like you mentioned.

how can we help it reach 2 billion guys?

jye? khev? trash panda? snoop? can you guys go watch it 14 more times? i mean, you guys love repeat viewings right?

20 flicks, hype train in warp drive and the backing power of disney and still nowhere close to Avatar.

Ten Foot Tall Blue Aliens For The Win!!

Still shows what an amazing run the box office was for that flick.

You can thank the international community for Avatar’s success.
But yup only 1 movie and bam 2.8 billion. :thud:

I think the inflated prices for 3D tickets was a large factor for avatar. It was a much more immersive experience in 3D rather than 2D. Some movies are just better in 3D than others.

Most movies I go see in 2D but that one was a must in 3D. I only go to 3D now if those are the only showtimes that work for me. But when avatar 2 comes out I’ll most likely see it in 3D.
