Wow... that's pretty good and it has facial character.. which many of the Ledger sculpts lack. I love it. The facial wrinkles are a bit deep, but I still think that if I had it in hand and painted it.... I'd be very very happy with the results. I hope he makes it available in 1/6. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. :rock

Just out of curiosity. Did he say why he's making this 1/5? Seem's like a very odd size.

He is planning on making it a whole figure. And he wasn't interested in selling it to anyone, it's a personal project for himself.

I don't think the wrinkles are too deep. And I totally see Ledger in there. This is also only an inch or so tall at 1/5th scale, so you are seeing extreme closeup pics.

I knew this was going to be a Joker sculpt when I opened the tread but the first thing that came to mind when I saw it was Richard Tyson from 3 O’clock High.

Great movie, and so damn hard to find.

Edit: nevermind, wrong movie quote...
Edit 2: I was thinking it was this movie: class of 1984

Now, back to great Joker sculpt...

Here's a quick mock up paint job I did on the second pic. The sculptor did an amazing job on capturing the likeness . He REALLY needs to make a 1/6th version available!

Very cool work.
Love the Richard Tyson bit. The hair is super, but reproing that much fine stuff would be more of a kit, than a single piece head. Would take seperate parts to do that. But it is nice! Would love to paint one also.
1/5? Weird choice.

That's a shame. But I'd love to see the end result. I in search of a cool Joker for my collection. I'm itching so bad for something special.

It's a great head sculpt, but I just don't see a lot of Heath in there.

Funny, this is the one and only Joker sculpt that looks like Ledger to me. However, Ledger in the movie didn't look much like himself in most scenes, so I'm not entirely sure that's a good thing. A very impressive sculpt in any case.

This is my point, as I've been chewing on the various comments of the various Ledger/Joker sculpts. The Joker looked nothing like Ledger! I feel like the whole, "I don't see Heath Ledger in there" is almost silly to say, even more silly as a deciding factor. Personally, I don't see Heath Ledger in the movie much less the sculpts! Look at that favorite photo of Heath wearing only the mouth scar appliances. Look at the movie. He wore more appliances than jut the mouth. His cheeks were built up, etc. He was only 28, he had none of the age lines Joker had. And those cheek appliances changed the entire shape of his face. His eyes are caked in black, which always makes your eyes seem much larger... so and so forth. The only bit of Heat's face in that character is his nose. I would bet, for the sake of argument, that if HEath's name were somehow never mentioned in the press or in the film credits, NO ONE would have ever known who the Joker was.

This will go down in 1:6 history as one of the most difficult portraits of all time to render.

Incredible, I like it very much :)

What is the name of the artist? and what are his other works?
Very interested to know

There is a dialogue brewing that says, that this makeup looks nothing like Ledger, yet IT IS HEATH LEDGER.
It must resemble HEATH LEDGER.

Gone are the days of toys that look randomly like whoever they are supposed to be. We as collectors have become a really savvy lot now. We want our figures and statues etc., to not resemble a given performer, but BE that performer.
The beauty of this piece is that is looks like Ledger. Yes, the wrinkles are a tad overdone, that happens in interpretation, but the likeness is there, hence all this response.
Linda Blair was pretty obscured by her demon makeup in The Exorcist. But, if the base sculpt doesn't look like her, with makeup on, then it doesn't matter. Gone is that eerieness. Same exact thing here.
This was a young man, 28, with minor facial appliances, not as much as you'd think, and some very contrasty makeup effects on his face. Just white, black and red. Some greenish tint to his hair. That's it. HE is the performance, and it is HIS face we all see. Every time.

It's called the Art of Illusion. Wonderfully done here. A landmark even.
So, yes, it must look just like Ledger for us to react. This does come pretty darned close. Only really new thing, is a twist to the mouth, nice that, and more, looser bits of hair. That's it. Otherwise, standard depiction. Not even a really new expression. No open mouth or jarringly new aspect. Just a nice, really well done sculpt.

I can always see the LEDGER in the JOKER. Every time.
Don't tell me he's not there. He is.
And he is here too.

Kudos to this sculptor, whoever they are. :rock
