I never understood why people would say that the Walt heads are too pricey? If you would buy a sculpt unpainted they usually run $50-70 and a quality paintup from any of the top painters on here is $150 or more. So Sal's prices are right on point..or even cheaper

The only thing about this I'd disagree with is what you get for a painter. For $150 you can commission one of the top painters in the business... but with Proteus I believe you're paying for a small studio of artists similar to a factory production. So while the end price isn't as high as say getting a $50 head and paying Silent Surfer to paint it... you are not paying a whole lot less and getting a head painted by essentially an anonymous artist. And while the paint work looks very good... it's not at even close to the same level as the top painters.

Not to mention some very good painters do charge less than $150+ :monkey3

But at the end of the day, Trevor's got to go with what feels comfortable to him and the quality (at least from the product images) looks quite good.

This is true you aren't getting a well known painter with these sculpts but it looks to be pretty good quality. I'll definitely be posting pics when I do get my sculpt from Sal. If they aren't up to par I do have a couple painters lined up. And GB who do you know that doesn't charge $150 or more...pm me?

I Think Neo Geo got His - But he sent them on to Nathan to get repainted!!

I don't know, but I would be kinda annoyed with that, spending $200 for a head just to spend another $150 or so to have it painted again.

The only reason I'm Walt-less now is because I can't afford a $200 head.
