Did anyone else notice that proteus 360 (Salvador) bought two heads from the infamous Q (eBay babygq14) and left him positive feedback? That's kinda of strange!

I have original Walts and a recast (i purchased long ago before i knew Q was a recaster)... I can honestly say before they were painted, that but for the difference on the bottom of the neck the sculpts are identical in size, detail and quality.

Him buying any recast from Q for whatever reason makes no sense. why risk your reputation and sales?

Only reason I can think is to make recasts of the recasts that can then be painted and sold without the buyer aware of what's really under that paint...

I thought his deal with Trevor provides him the original to cast from or something?

He might have bought those before his arrangement with Trevor. Let's not make a huge deal out of this. The quality is the same guys. Trust me. He's got Trevor's permission to make casts. He's paying Trevor now.

I think you missing the point slightly Wake. I have had the chance to buy recasts of Walt before and wouldn't do it out of principal. I may now be doing exactly that but at an inflated price. That will have me super p___ed I tell you!

Inflated price? You are getting Trevor sanctioned sculpts. Not illicit recasts. So the inflated price as far as i can tell are due to Trevor's royalties and the paint work itself. In fact, you could argue that at $180 you are actually getting a decent deal on the painted final sculpt considering $180 is what a painter like Nathan charges JUST to paint it without factoring the cost of the cast (resin is not CHEAP) and the royalty fee to Trevor.

This is all speculation anyway... because for all we know Trevor sent him original casts to work from... but at the end of the day everything is a recast. Sal isn't selling sculpts with bubbles or seams or rough edges... so its the same thing.

So they could have paid $40 odd from Q instead of $180 from Salvador. Just saying is all.

No, they couldve paid $40 yes but for a cast that was illicit. Do you think Sal should have been willing to sell the cast at cost plue trevor's fee? What's the incentive for him? Where's the business model there? Can't fault the guy for keeping his studio busy AND for paying Trevor for his work something Q never did. So in the end it's on the end buyer... you can still go buy the $40 cast if you want right? I don't think Q stopped making them. You mentioned you wouldn't buy out of principle but it seems like the principle has more to do with cast quality then with the fact that Trevor hadn't sanctioned the castings. Im here to tell you the the quality difference is non-existent or negligible.

NOW THAT is troubling! Is he simply buying recasts and pocketing the cost? That's deceitful right there. Maybe it costs him MORE to make the casts himself and is simply buying them from Q? :
