If they can CGI abs on Nick Cage, they can give Arnold back his Terminator body....I say he should be included in some capacity.

NOOOO!!!! I wouldn't mind them using him in the sense of a cameo that shows several of his model being sent to the front line as fodder. Then have it explained that it is an inferior model that is no longer useful...BOOM time for the T6000 love bot!!!

Quality is much more important than the rating. Which had cooler sci-fi battles; the R-rated Starship Troopers or the PG-13 Transformers? The recent War of the Worlds was also quite violent and brutal and it did so without the harsher rating.

I LOVE the idea of an entire trilogy devoted to the future war. It makes for a more epic story that can be fully developed and shaped.

Totally! I think ever since the first teaser for Alien 3 way back when I've been hungry for an all-out "Earth War" James Cameron-style. The Alien movies never delivered and I remember years ago talking with my friends about movies set in Terminator's future like a crazy pipe dream. I'm very excited about these films getting the go ahead, even moreso now that Bale is on board.

For a franchise like this, a 3-pic deal is standard for actors, doesn't mean there WILL BE 3 films though. Depends how the 1st of this trilogy performs.

Personally I think Bale is overrated. He's not gonna save the franchise in any way. He has a hip factor only because of Batman. That said, he does seem right for Connor though.

I agree--I'm expecting larger scale sci-fi battles in this trilogy rather than the more brutal and bloody one-on-one stuff that we saw in the originals. In the future, most of the terminators are running around without the human skin and can be disposed of without blood and gore, without the gradual decomposition of the face that we know and love with Arnold. In a war against an army cold steel endoskeletons, there can be plenty of sci-fi violence and mayhem without the actual bloodshed that bumps up the rating.

Good actors unfortunately can't make a film good merely with their being there. It certainly did no good for the Star wars prequels despite having Liam neeson, ewan mcgregor and sam jackson - in fact I thought the latter was one of the worst things about those films.

I have doubts that there can ever be a good new Terminator film just as I have no doubt whatsoever that there could never be another good Alien film. We know these franchises and their namesakes too well - all the novelty is gone. There can be no edge-of-the-seat tension.

Plus money-making is usually the primary motivation in returning to these franchises, hence symptoms such as dumbing down, lowering age ratings and not giving much of a crap about whether it actually makes artistic sense or story sense to make a new film.

How about have the plans for AHNULD appear on some computer in a Skynet base? The NEW model...

pg13? bale signing for three more terminator films? how much more can they milk out of the story? in the spirit of pg13, what the frack are they trying to do, terminate the terminator? :horror

3 more Terminator films?! Personally, I think they should have ended with T-2. The third movie was not the most memorable of films. Arnold was just so tame in that film....like a puppy dog. lol

Yes Terminator should of ended with T2 because T3 just left the franchise open for sequels which will grill this franchise even more too a point of no return
