well i thinks i lucked out and got a balrog lsb finally coming.
thinking that i'm going to do a custom on it and make it a light up version.

paid $180 for it plus shipping. from what i've seen of the selling/asking prices, i thought it was a good deal.

tell me if i'm wrong. and if i am, well sht then.

Thats a fantastic price!! one of the most underrated LOTR pieces from SS IMO

funny you would say that, when i went to check out and pay he had already gave me a quote of $70 shipping, since shipping costs suck for up here in canada. i thought the shipping was reasonable. BUT when i went to pay, the shipping total on the invoice was $999.. i thought wth is going on here, then i immediately recieved a revised invoice from him with the proper amount.

he said something to do with the shipping calculator screwed it up.
i hate them ebay shipping calculators for international shipping, they never seem to come out right.

I know exactly what you mean though...the amount of times I have a search of ebay.com and see the Weta Pippin bust with £600 postage is both funny and scary

anyways i took it home right away and i'm very impressed with this bust. i'll have to take some side by side pics with daddy rog later.

just a great, great piece. i'm glad i snagged this one.
now i just have to open up the btm of it to see if i can make him into a light up feature.

Yeah that box really is huge!!! I had to carry it on my lap in the back of a car when I bought mine...for 2 hours Now that hurt!

Congrats on your new arrival, the only thing I don't care for too much are the flames so good luck on improving that part.

It's a great piece. I think the price is what turned a lot of people off originally. But you can get it for a lot under retail now, so I definitely recommend it.

It's not just the price, its the combo of price plus 1000 ES .
The Sauron LSB was listed as $379 and that never has gone significantly under retail if my memory serves me correctly.

sorry for the shtty pics, i wish i could take better pics of the light up feature, it really turned out good imo. not only do the flames light up but the cracks in his body also light up giving him same presence as the movie. just have to figure out how to get some light up to his mouth and eyes.

added it myself. imo if ssc would've had this as a feature the busts would of been sold out a long time ago and probably for more money.
