Almost 1/3 off (plus $1 S/H) on the DeAgonstini is a HUGE deal.

I really can't afford it right now after all the other purchases I've made in the last few weeks, but it's the kind of deal that is really hard to let slip by.

As much as I like the Bandai PG kit, the DeAgo is just a hell of a lot more impressive by sheer size. Unfortunately it's that size that would make it just about impossible for me to actually ever display properly. In that regard, the more modest Bandai works so much better- and at a 1/3 of the cost.

Still, whenever this DeAgo goes out of production, I can't see it ever getting released again at anywhere near the cost of picking it up now on sale. For that reason it seems like it might be a good investment to me that will at least hold it's value unassembled.

I can see people going for the DeAgo kit. It's a nicely details studio scale. Painted right it will look nice. I plugged it over of the EFX thread because that ugly thing is not worth the money they're asking.

Some really nice Bandai 1:72 builds are coming together on the RPF. Worth a look to anyone who's considering this kit.

It wasn’t an easy choice because the detail on the Bandai is insane. The sale pushed me over.

earthdog, now you'll be tempted to upgrade the DeAgo Falcon with the amazing aftermarket items available, especially from Shapeways. TonyRR and several others offer fantastic updates and detail sets, not to mention the photo etch parts from Paragrafix. Then there's extra lighting kits, resin updates, etc....

One thing about the deag kit, it's a marathon and not a sprint, and be ready to have half built sections stored all over your house. Lol

It's a great kit and a fun build. Congrats.

God help me, but I actually am seriously considering getting the DeAgo while it's still on sale.

Looking into it though, I finally understand why people go on about the 32" model and the 5' one. Prior to this, I looked at both and thought "what's the big deal? They are both obviously the same ship." Three gears vs five, who cares?

Didn't realize the extent of minute detail that was afforded by the larger canvas of the five footer nor how much they dialed back that detail in constructing the 32".
I understand now why people were so excited that Bandai was going off the five footer and not the ESB version.

That said, the larger size of the DeAgo as far as an in home kit gives it some clear advantages to me. The cockpit looks insane when lit up- and so much better than the Bandai (those decals seem to be giving just about everyone a big headache going over the raised surface). The accessible interior also makes for a very compelling display option. It's the kind of beast that warrants moving stuff around to properly display it.

As a kit, it also looks like it's been engineered well. Things fit together. Even just building it stock makes for an impressive finished piece.

It's gonna be a tough decision as the clocks ticks down to the end of the sale.

Lol. For sure! Where else would the extra $500 in saving go?

Falcon 3D has some upgrades similar to Shapeways.

ParaGraphix has a bunch of photo etched pieces that are a good sized improvement over the stock DeAgo- cockpit, engine grill, vents, gunner port, etc
Their stuff alone is gonna set you back another $250 though.

I ended up canceling my order today when I saw the sales on the Deagostini.

If possible to swing it maybe get both? I did, it's kinda like getting the perfect grade for free. That's how I justify it anyway. I figure when I start these projects I'll begin practice on some of the smaller bandai sw models, then the perfect grade, and lastly the Deago.

Same here! I bought the PG then found out about the Deago. After watching some vids on youtube, I decided to end the agony of indecision for myself and ordered the Deago full kit, hope all parts will be there when it arrives!

Customer Service told me all the latest improvement parts will ship in the full kit but there’s an extra Greeblies pack that hasn’t come out yet. We should receive that about a month later.

Nice! I didn't know about the extra greebles pack.
Do the first wave of Falcon subscribers get that too?
