Does it just appear, or does it physically transverse the map?

I think it just appears, but you can always see where it's coming from. It's unrealistic where it could just cover several blocks out of nowhere, but who cares- it's awesome!

I have to say, the game is quite hard. There isn't any tutorials and anyone who is rusty or haven't played the previous games will probably struggle. It doesn't seem to want to hold your hand and expects you to be the Batman.

Also, most of the new moves are locked until you acquire the new suit. You'll be mostly spending time doing Arkham City moves until the suit arrives, so don't repeatedly try to eject into the sky from the Batmobile like I did, it won't work.

Man, I really can't wait to play this. Do you like the new suit?

It doesn't seem to bother me so much and I think I understand now why RS gave a much busier suit design- it's because the world is so packed and detailed that the AA/AC suit will look a bit flat in this world. A version of the old suit does appear, and you can switch it back if you don't like the AK suit, so it's really not worth complaining about in the end.

The cutscenes are all in real time so it won't be jarring to use skins now. There also aren't any loading screens, I really don't know how they did it. :lol

You really should be excited. If the game manages to keep up the momentum all the way trough, this might be some of the best games ever made.

I honestly can't see MGSV beating this out.

This is the best arkham game by far. Beautiful, as easy to play and more rewarding than arkham city, new moves. Everything. This is the one.

I love the batmobile. Get batman standing on the edge of a roof. Summon the batmobile to the street below. Dive bomb right into the cockpit. Then the engine roars and the afterburner kicks in. You spin up the back wheels and do a burnout and off you go. It's epic.

Granted, none of us have played TPP but form what I'm playing so far, the game is tightly paced and every event, no matter how minor has a sense of urgency and importance. Yes, there are a lot of tanks that blocks your way towards your next story point but I can live with that. It's an open world game that feels immediate and engrossing.

So yeah, good luck to MGS trying to beat this. For my money this is GOTY.

Oh, did I mention that this might be Kevin Conroy's best performance yet? Every line he utters makes my balls shrink because how manly he sounds. :lol

I agree, it's pure gaming goodness of the highest order. It makes the gameplay of AA and AC feel like appetizers, and that's saying A LOT.

Hmmm, the tank fights are tiring... it gets old.

Yeah it is horribly optimized for PC. 32% user rating on steam.

Well this weekend I might be able to get the Arkham Knight PS4 bundle, or at least a PS4 with Arkham Knight...my Dad is really curious! Here's hoping

Just waiting around for this patch to download, is it weird I'm not that excited? I think witcher 3 has spoiled me.

I'm in the process of waiting for the UPS guy to deliver my bundle. T'is exciting, I must say, though, that, as ridiculously excited as I am for the whole thing, I feel like, just from what I've been hearing and reading, Rocksteady made an egregious error with Battle Mode. In my mind, that should be something like the reveal of ye Tumbler, where, this whole time, you've been crashing through the streets of Gotham, chasing down criminals, but now, you've got nowhere to go, and then it does it, the Batmobile turns into a giant tank and allows you to blow everything up.

It just seems like it'd be better suited as a one-time, surprise sort of thing. They could've even included all of the other encounters as challenge modes, so as not to disrupt the flow of the game.

Mine is out for delivery, though it's tough to get excited since I'll have to wait until after work to install it. May not get to play much tonight.

You should, this game grows on you. Im somewhat getting better at handling the Batmobile and it feels great. I wish I could kill people though.

It's quite huge, and the roads are wide enough to accommodate the Batmobile. Not GTA wide, but wide enough. The amount of detail packed in the environment is absurd.

There's a neat twist that happens about 2 hours or so that will have you grinning from ear to ear.

Which part? Use spoiler tags if you think you should. I'm curious because I played for a few hours last night so it probably won't spoil anything for me, but your 2 hours in and my 2 hours in may be at completely different points in the game -- (I tend to spend A LOT of time exploring and seeing what Batman and the car can do on my way to mission checkpoints.)

Same here, I haven't done any story missions (aside from taking Ivy to the GPD building). I'm just exploring and "leveling up", which is something I loved about City. Imma get 100% done on this game no matter what..

Are there challenge maps in this game? I can't find it in the main menu. I hope RS didn't remove it, I probably spent more time doing challenges in the past games than actually playing the campaign.

Also the Red Hood dlc is extremely short and barely has any story. Took me around 15 minutes to beat, same for Harley's "episode".

Of course I'll use spoiler tags:

After you meet Scarecrow for the first time (STOP READING IF YOU HAVEN"T REACHED THIS PART) Joker "comes back to life". with him constantly appearing out of nowhere nowhere being not only a reflection of Bruce's troubled psyche, but opens up for some incredibly funny yet strangely comforting by having Joker giving you "moral support". :lol

Not sure, I think it was on the main menu, along with the Scarecrow Nightmare missions. How are you enjoying the game so far? Is it everything you expected it to be?
