Just finished playing the game. It was hard to play this after watching my son beat the game and knowing all the stuff that was going to happen ahead of time. Just couldn't get into this game. Glad to be done with it. It's easily my least favorite of all the Arkham games (including Origins) and I was disappointed with the ending. For me personally, this was a lame way to end this franchise. I was expecting more. Too much maybe?

If you ask me, it sounds like you killed your experience by knowing all the spoilers, if you already know the story you're basically only playing the same old Arkham fighting game you already played at least 3 times before.

What was your overall opinion of AK Gasper? Where would you rank it in the series?

Yeah ...I know it takes years to develop games but even if they had this ending planned:
It should have been changed after The Dark Knight Rises came out. It's not shocking in anyway because its basically exactly the same finale (with some of the Batman Begins city wide fear gassing thrown in for good measure)
They would have been much better off by just going hell for leather and:
Having Bruce actually taken over by the Joker virus and taking the Knight/Jason Todd story to a more satisfying ending by having you switch to playing as a reformed Todd, taking up the Batman mantle and stopping a crazy Bruce

No, I started the game before my son did. The overbearing focus on the batmobile turned me off right away. As far as the story goes, it was hit and miss with me. I actually like the boss fights of the previous Arkham games. Not enough of it in Knight as far as I'm concerned. The ending in particular just really left me disappointed. I expected more for the finale. It wasn't horrible but I think it could have been better. That's just my opinion.

The ending killed it for me as well.
From how I explained the game to my friend...the first 60% of this game looked like a game of the year, and possibly best batman game ever.
Then its like they fumbled the ball, and gameplay and storyline ended up just mediocre, with a bad ending for a Batman story.
And the ending made this my least favorite of the series as well.
Its like they wanted to copy the TDKR ending, but had to really try a different approach in trying not to look like its their inspiration.

The Dark Knight Rises ending > Arkham Knight ending

It’s not even close.

That's the problem. I really didn't like TDKR. IMO, Nolan blew the end of that trilogy. Both of them ended on a bad note for me.

I loved TDKR ending, Batman basically achieves what he was trying to do since Batman Begins. That ending didn’t come out of nowhere, but Arkham Knight’s ending didn’t work for me because while the answers are there, if felt like RS purposely left so much out of IT to make it to make it look smarter than it actually was and keep people talking.

We just see TDKR differently. All the clichés Nolan avoided so well in Begins and TDK popped up in Rises. 'Robin' realizing Bruce was Bats as a kid, Bane revealed as a baby sitter, and Bats taking the time to kiss Catwoman while a bomb is counting down in his city with millions of peoples lives on the line...these are just some of the things that infuriated me. I didn't like TDKR. I was greatly disappointed by Rises.

We can agree to disagree :duff

While I didn’t like the actual ending to the game, I loved how RS closed out Joker’s story, and his relationship with Batman.

Well at least one of my questions have been answered. The ability to dash from left to right forward and back with this car was one of my concerns, to avoid the tank battles.

Definitely. I do agree with you on the close out of Bats and Joker's relationship. I thought it was handled very well.

The maps have an interesting influence from the two Burton films. The shape of the car looks not quite right to me though. I'm kind of disappointed that they couldn't get something as simple as the taillights done in the right color.
