Rocksteady revealed in an interview with Eurogamer that Batman: Arkham VR has been completed, and that they're really, really done with Batman this time.

Rocksteady Games, creator of the Batman Arkhamverse, is here at EGX to show off Batman VR - a brand new Batman Arkham experience made after the studio said they were definitely done with Batman.

The lure of creating a detective game with their caped crusader and tinkering around in VR was "an itch they had to scratch", producer Dax Ginn told Eurogamer today.

But now, with Batman VR's imminent release, Rocksteady really is moving on from its baby. Really, this time.

"We submitted [Batman VR to Sony] last week which was an awesome experience," Ginn said. One of the developers celebrated the game 'going gold' by dressing up in a gold spandex suit and bringing in a golden boom box.

But after the gold spandex suit is unzipped and put in the wash, what next?

"To be honest I don't really know," Ginn says, although I'm not sure I entirely believe him. "We're in a very enviable position where we have some time and space to decide what we're doing next," he continues. "We can sit back and think what our dream game would be, and we have Warner Bros.' support to do that.

"I think we've proven that we're a hardworking team, we work well together, and we can really decide what's best creatively for our own destiny."

Whatever Rocksteady is working on, Ginn isn't yet ready to say. But it's clear from Batman VR that Rocksteady is still fond of its Arkhamverse - even if it is really, really now leaving it behind.

"I think there's a little bit of sadness on the team," Ginn concludes. "It feels like... breaking up? [The mood] is really split - there's a feeling in the office like, it's definitely time to do something else - we all accept that. But we all know Batman so well - we all feel comfortable in the Arkhamverse.

"We're definitely letting go of that comfort blanket and putting ourselves in the position where whatever we do next is going to feel very different. There's always an anxiety associated with change and that's where we want to be. We want to feel uncomfortable because we want to make awesome stuff."

Also, they released two new screenshots.

Maybe RockSteady should do Twisted Metal next, since they seem to loooove vehicular combat so much. :monkey3

Rocksteady has confirmed once again that Arkham VR will take an hour to complete, but roughly 2.5 hours if you collect everything in it.

From the PressStart article:

Rocksteady Studios Brand Marketing Producer, Dax Ginn has revealed more information about the length of Batman: Arkham VR to PressStart.

Whilst the hands-on experiences have been extremely positive, many have been worried about the length of Batman: Arkham VR, which was always marketed as a bite-sized experience, rather than a full game.

“The core narrative is about 60 minutes in duration, however additional content is unlocked that provides about another 90 minutes of gameplay on top of that. So there are plenty of reasons to play through the game multiple times in order to see everything that we have put into it.” said Dax Ginn.

Batman Arkham VR will launch alongside PlayStation VR on October 13th. It will only be available digitally on the PlayStation Network for $29.95 AUD. It is said to be exclusive to PlayStation VR until March 2016.

Stay tuned for our full interview with Rocksteady’s Dax Ginn.

Who wants to bet that Arkham VR will never make it to any VR platform outside of the PS VR?

Review by IGN. Looks like a decent distraction, but nothing to write home about unless you're already sold on VR.

Really interested in trying to get both the headset and this game. I tried a demo at bestbuy and it was pretty amazing, not perfect, but amazing. Any tips on trying to get the vr without a pre order?

I got both the psvr and the batman game. The batman game was pretty incredible, short, but incredible.

I dont have ps4 VR yet, but I was initally excited cause of the Batman VR, but I'm upset that its only 1 hr game. Sure, 2 hrs if you do the extras...but this is unacceptable. Should be a 3 hour minimum at least, maybe more with extras.
But to make a game for only 1 hour, that's not a game...that's a demo.

I see what your saying, but I think its meant to be played straight through. An hour is a pretty long time to have the headset on, I cant imagine two hours. Any fan of batman should be willing to dish out 20 bucks for this experience, it is like a long interactive universal or Disney ride. Hell, I would be mad excited if they start up a series of these 20$ hour long episodes of Arkham vr.

Just as a side note, seeing some of these characters in a one to one ratio is absolutely jaw dropping.
