waiting for the full preview, I was impressed more with the leaked pic than the actual preview tbh.

This one is the actual preview pic, right? Other than the cowl (around the jawline) and the sculpt a bit, I do not find anything terribly wrong. Do need to see more pics.

yup that the one, IDK something is off about it, hope the full preview will change my mind :)

I think it will be interesting to see how this comes out.

I am wary of the head... not the face, but the cowl. It appears quite thick at the sides and I am not sure it flows right.

I am not worried about the costume. I am sure they won't screw that up.

The price however... Probably have to stick to my HT's.

I'm betting EX will be a head, to shut all the complainers up about the head turn.

Second, his mask was ridiculously thick in the movie. Sometimes I wonder if most of you were even born in the 80's.

This image actually gives you a better look at the jawline... The cowl looks thinner here. Having said that, Atheris is right, there are several subtle differences between the cowl in Batman and the cowl in Batman Returns. The cowl in Batman is slightly thicker and a tad more 'roomy', wheras the BR cowl is more streamlined and form fitting. Both cowls are great.

Overall, as everybody knows, lighting can change things greatly. I'm confident that this is going to turn out beautiful.

I am somewhat split on the head turn. On one hand, I love accuracy... On the other, I do understand the need for sculptors to use angles in static pieces to imply movement. Both the DC Direct Keaton statues have head turns too-

I think that without using slight angles and turns throughout the body on a statue, there would be disconnect between movement throughout. With this PF, they have that great pose of Batman walking down the Batcave steps... Without putting that slight turn on the head (even though it is inaccurate), the very nature of this being a posed piece might make it come across as a bit robotic from the waist up; Like his legs are moving of their own accord. So I have to weigh accuracy versus a sculptor's need to sometimes put their subjects into a fantasy situation for the good of the piece.

I think we all need to see clear pics of the entire piece before passing final judgment. :)

I love the idea for the base on this, great to have Batman in his batcave! Looking forward to full review, ex announcement and price.. Definitely a buy unless it's more than $400, which they really shouldn't try..

Don't see why it should be more than $400, unless it has voice or sound, or light up or something extra of significan difference to justify the bump, I don't mean coh, extra hand.

I really love sideshow. They are great.Waiting for more pics. But i get why people are not to exited about the face sculpt.
It reminds me me more of peter weller then it does of keaton. But thats me....

Great post, I totally agree.:clap

As you can see in the picture above. How the cowl looks depends alot on how you lit it.The left picture is an actual still from the movie.
i agree that sideshow needs to improve the sculpt a bit.A little less weller and a bit more keaton ;)

Umm, because people will pay more than $400 to buy it...and SSC knows it...
