The new 52 is also a younger looking Batman, and the current life-size bust that SS has to offer shows more of an older Batman.

True but they could fill in the deeper lines even slightly and pull it off. It's no real difference than taking the red/blue Spider-Man and filling the lines and changing the symbol to make it the symbiotic version.

Anyone getting a pedestal for this thing? At 29" high or whatever, it's not going to fit in the Besta.

Thats the main reason I havent ordered one yet. I only need one LS Bust. If they do a Jim Lee version or any version by one of the several artist out there than I would kick myself.

Come on man, there's never enough Batman hahahahahahaha.

I get what you mean man, I mean if you are not a major Batman fan, I can totally understand.

The only modern batman i would never get is the ____ Grayson verison.

But anything Bruce Wayne - Batman, for sure I would.

How many classic Spidey busts has Sideshow done? Just one. The McFarlane version. That's it. I don't see a Romita version yet and it's been like 5 years.

I don't know where people get the impression that Sideshow will do 3, 4 or 5 Batman busts from different artists or styles.

They will make the ES for this bust large enough that everyone that wants one can get it and move on to Superman or Green Lantern next.

It won't be artist inspired but a simple variant but given that the artist who did the new Venom and Carnage pieces is supposedly doing a Spidey now for SSC I wouldn't be shocked if they move things a lot faster than a half a decade with DC characters

The only variant I can see is making the outfit lighter blue and switching for the classic yellow oval bat-symbol. Given that choice, I am going to assume most people would prefer the more realistic version that is being offered now. I assume that because the realistic sculpt would call for a darker/more real suit than a brighter blue one. Then of course if you go the other way with a darker outfit it becomes too similar for the people that already spent $680 for an original version so those buyers pass.

So...is the risk worth it for Sideshow if those huge boxes don't sell and stay in the warehouse?

Variants for 1:1 busts are tricky. Because they are lazy by their nature (Symbiote Spidey, BD Iron Man, etc.), they are not well executed because the final product is a bad tweak of what was originally intended. That International version of the Classic Spidey bust with the glossy eyes proves that point as well. One could ask, where is the brown outfit version of the Wolverine 1:1 "berserker rage" bust?

Dont think it will sell out thatfast bro I do think it will have a high edition size maybe 750??? Same for cap i think maybe 550 but Once both busts edition sizes are announced ill order both!!

maybe not a sellout lighnting fast but it will sellout !...once those awesome in hand pics come in ...plus the Batman film coming...SOLD OUT!....This mark my words will be one of the best 1:1 busts!

Anyone want me to Photoshop on some bubbling/flaking paint chips so you can see what this will look like 6 months after you get it?

I kid....:monkey3
