Yah, that growling voice was a bit ridiculous for me. I liked the first two movies, never saw Bane. Was turned off at that point. It lacked everything Burton's movies had which is why I still like Keaton more. Plus I like Keaton more as an actor. Bale in "Empire of the Sun" plays almost the same character and that came out in '87.

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I dooooo that defines me." - BATMAN (Christian Bale) in Batman Begins (2005) :lol

Glad to say that i sold off 6 statues I was having buyers remorse over

Its much easier to pick and choose which line of products id like to collect.

Im still very much focused on the Batman rogues, and XMEN.

Thanos would probably be the only outlier id bite the bullet on.

A second Batman? Probably the few characters id double dip over

Batman and X-Men are my focus, too. Batman is a double dip character for me as well. I'm debating selling just one statue I don't need.

But I also focus on Spider-Man and Avengers, too. With these prices approaching almost $500 each with shipping included, I'm not sure how selective I'll be going forward. I still would like Ra's, Riddler, Penguin, Two-Face, Nightwing, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, Beast, Archangel, Jubilee, Bishop, Prof. X, Storm in 90s White, Iceman, Nightcrawler, Classic Mystique, Mr. Sinister, Magneto, Hank Pym, Wasp, Falcon, Quicksilver, Hobgoblin, Doc Oc, Electro, Lizard, Mysterio, Sandman, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Mr. Fantastic, Aquaman, Flash, and Green Arrow...

And prices continue to rise. Makes double dipping on variants way less likely.

I don't mind double dipping on a very few select characters but, I'll NEVER buy a variant of a statue I already own. For example, I own the original EX Bats PF. I won't pick up the modern Bats PF. The statues are practically identical. If I liked the variant more, I'd sell the original to own it. No way I'd be able to display 2 statues that are basically identical to each other in my collection. To me personally, it just looks bad. The sculpts HAVE to be different in order for me to pick up another statue of a character I like. While I will pass on the modern Bats variant, I will be picking up the Arkham Asylum/City Bats PF if it looks good.

Too me ma bats looks great because that's the bats I grew up with in the 70's. Saying it looks bad because it looks too similliar to first of bats is a little too harsh. I just started collecting pf figures and glad I waited and did not buy first pf bats. I will eventually get him though. Comes down to personal preference. I still think both look great, but I see your point of being too similliar to first pf bats.

I'm pretty sure filip only meant having two variants side by side doesn't make for a good display to him, not that the blue Batman looks bad per se. And I agree - every time I see those rooms with, say, exactly the same Hulk in green and red or three differently colored Chun-Lis, I shake my head. To me that seems less a varied collection than a Pokémon 'look-I-got-them-all' mentality. But each to their own.

:lecture:goodpost::exactly:

When I see the same exact pose in diff colors it looks redundant. Like what are you trying to display? Each statue or figure has a mystique about it and having repitive pose makes them look less unique.

That goes for different characters in the same pose to me as well. Having Hulk and Juggernaut in the same pose looks strange to me. It takes away from them being dynamic. There are rare instances where someone sets it up in a way that looks interesting but usually that takes up even more space and has other "props" to enhance the scene.

I'm starting to get sick of variants with the same pose as well. Might have to dump my first Ivy soon. Hard to decide...

Yep, that's exactly what I meant shoo.

This Batman is a a proper variant.

New head sculpt new costume new batarang.

The ones that dont make sense are White Costume Black Widow, 5 Elektra variants. And I agree those rainbow colored Hulks for the nth time

The difference would be in this case

That storyline for White Widow ran for about a couple months (give or take)

This running change costume for Batman ran for decades

Even with the changes made for the modern variant Bats, it's still way too similar to the original PF to display them together for my tastes. Besides, given how beloved the 70s Bats costume is, it's certainly worthy of an original sculpt. An original sculpt with a more slimmer and athletic body to match the Adams influence the head portrait captures but the body doesn't IMO.

I'm sure there will be plenty of Batman PFs in the future
