Looks really nice. I wont be getting it because I dont really have that attachment to Red sun but i think it looks great

Of all pieces, THIS is the one they decide to raise PF prices again on:cuckoo:

There's no reason why prices should be going up or at least not this fast. China got hit hard so prices are going down a little for some area. Even if it's not hitting SSC yet, it shouldn't be going up.

Let me tell you people something, there's only 1 Batman in this world, in this universe and it's this Batman, an American Batman. Any other just doesn't cut it.

:lol:lol:lol Hey, I'm just messing with you guys. The Story of Batmankoff is sure to be an interesting 1 to read but I have never read it. Maybe I will.

We can spend all the time in the world trying to analyze China's labor costs and trying to determine if these price hikes are justified. To me this is an exercise in futility because 1) Sideshow does not have to justify their prices. There is no industry law in effect that mandates Sideshow provide adequate justification for any price increase 2) Not one person on this forum has access to Sideshow financial statements...so we have absolutely no idea if there are other operating / direct & indirect costs (outside of labor) that may necessitate a price increase in order to maintain current margin and/or profits levels.

IMHO Sideshow is raising prices because they can...simple as that folks. They raise prices because they believe there is sufficient portion of their customer base is willing to absorb the costs. As for the disgruntled veteran collectors that remember when PFs were $200 - $300 and are threatening to stop collecting or purchasing Sideshow products. Go ahead and quit...Sideshow's management team is likely betting on the fact that you are no longer their primary demographic group. Maturing companies understand the key to survive is to quickly identify and target the demographic group that will allow them to remain profitable. Sideshow management may have market information that suggests there is a growing number of new collectors entering the market...folks that never knew the good old days of PFs below $300...folks that will have no problem paying $490 for this PF. In addition, Sideshow also knows there is a pool of veteran collectors who still generate sufficient disposable income to purchase this PF at the current price point.

Sideshow's current price structure means that many collectors will need to be more selective in their purchases. Personally...I really liked the Red Son story line and I want to collect this line. That being said, I do understand the growing frustration fellow collectors have with ongoing price increase. But at the end of the day...this is the capitalistic society we live in. I cannot fault Sideshow for doing what every other company is trying to do...which is maximize profits.

The problem is that these guys have already dished out $1200 + $120+ shipping for the original Trinity. And now if they want these 3 new ugly ones, they will have to pay a lot more and they're likely still paying off the original Trinity and they're all in the poor house. Additionally, they're probably still paying off any Hot Toys as well, so they are upset and frustrated with this new higher pricing. I could understand that. There's no doubt this hobby is expensive, but know your budget if you can't afford these damn things. Like Dirty Harry famously stated, " a man gotta know his limitations. "

I think SS just got tired of seeing people complain about their prices and QC then rush off to line up for the next $1000 XM piece.

I know those XM statues are nicely done with an excellent review for quality control but I still don't think they should be priced for $1000+. They're good but not worth so much. But I guess you get what you pay for. They're XM so they are in class by themselves, so they can ask and get that amt for their product.

wow not even a year ssc alredy increased their price twice...
from 400 -> 450 now 490

hmm i think china need to devaluate their yuan even further. :rotfl

Actually...the XM pieces are not retail priced at $1,000. Many people mistakenly quote the price of XM's offerings in Singapore dollars (SGD). For example, the Jean Grey / Phoenix statue retails at $949 SGD which is $662 in US dollars. Definitely more expensive than SS's PFs...but they are not priced at $1,000. Now...secondary market prices easily exceed $1,000. IMHO the real pain point about XM pieces is the shipping costs associated with getting your statue from Singapore to the US. These costs can range between $200 - $300 per statue. Not to mention the fact that the XM middle man / distributor has to get a cut of the pie as well.

Yup. It is expensive to get XM to US. Basically same as collector buying SS Exclusive version internationally.

This is one of my favorite Batman designs and one of my favorite Elseworlds tales. I think it looks great. All three are brilliant if you ask me. :)
